THE COURTYARD AS THE SOCIAL HEART OPTIMIZES INTERACTION AND INCORPORATES A PLAYFUL ARRAY OF ACTIVITIES FOR DIFFERENT AGES. THE OPENINGS ON THE HOUSE PROMOTE CROSS VENTILATION TO PREVENT GREEN HOUSE EFFECT AND IMPROVE THE ACOUSTIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CENTRAL COURTYARD. CENTRAL COURTYARDS COME UP FROM SIXTEENTH CENTURY, PRE-COLONIAL SPANISH. ARCHITECTS USED TO BE ASKED: “GIVE ME A HOME WITH A LARFE PATIO”. THERE IS A BIG INFLUENCED ON MY COMMUNITY TO INCORPORATED AND BRING BACK THOSE LARGE PATIOS. 1528 COMMUNITY EARNS SUSTAINABILITY POINTS BY MAXIMAZING THE DENSITY PERMITTED ON THE SITE BY FOCUSING ON MASSING, SHARED VIEWS, OPEN SPACE, LIAVIBILITY, PLACE MAKING, AND PEDESTRIAN MOBILLITY. ITS MIXED USES ALLOW FOR SHOPPING, LIVING, AND WORKING ON SITE. THE WHOLE COMMUNITY IS GOING TO PRODUCE SIGNIFICANT REDUCTIONS IN THE FOLLOWING: CONSTRUCTION WASTE, ENERGY USE AND WATER USE FOR RESIDENTS. MY MOTIVATION WAS TO TRY TO BRING CALIFORNIA COURTYARD HOUSE, IN WHICH PEOPLE INTERACT IN THE AREA, TO PROMOTE CONNECTION OF BUILDINGS-COMMUNITITES WITH EACH OTHER. MY MISSION IS TO CONNECT THE COMMUNITY WITH THE SURROUNDINGS WHILE MAKING IT SECURE AND SAFE FOR THE USER.

Single open floor, light steel framing, with multi-purpose areas. Sustainable building incorporating cross ventilation by adaping pivot panel windows in opposite sides, material wise will be of 75% of recycle components. Green roofs will act as energy and temperature moderators, at the entrance there will be a polycarbonate glass tubular area in which light will be capture and reuse into the space. The whole idea is to make a sustainable, efficient but innovative building.
