Background – Milestones Slovenia has rich experience in collecting tolls (on Motorways): Tolls on Motorways has been collected since 1973 (manual system for all vehicles); Introduction of Electronic Toll Collection was made in 1995 (ABC System, but only for passenger cars – Class R1); Introduction of the Vignette System in 2008 for light vehicles (max. permissible weight under 3.5t).

In July 2007 an Action Plan was accepted by Slovenian Government Government. Deployment of HGV Tolling System in Slovenia

Background – Action Plan The main topics of the Action Plan are: Implementation of ETC System in Free Flow; Charging system is based on actual driven distance; For HGV with maximum weight above 3 3.5t; 5t; Mandatory use of satellite technology; Mandatory use of suitable OBU; ‌
