HOSPITALITY + RETAIL OVERVIEW

We are

.

Our History Inventure was founded in 1997 to support people, solve their design problems and empower their visions. Over twenty years later, our clients continue to enjoy the services of a company that thinks differently, intentionally fosters a culture of innovation, and builds lasting client relationships. We originally developed our people-centered design process out of Jim’s house, a unique start-up environment created to support the advancement of new ideas and award-winning design solutions. Our clients selected us over larger, more established firms for our tailored solutions. We were pulled onto large corporate and healthcare projects and rapidly grew by embracing technology like 3D visualization software and by partnering with other top-tier firms drawn to our ability to repeatedly produce inspired, refined work of the highest quality. In 2004, we greatly expanded our offerings from corporate interiors and healthcare to include experiential design, retail and industrial. A decade and a half later, we have offices in Houston, Dallas, Nashville and Tulsa and complete projects around the world. The year we opened, we became one of the first firms to elevate the standard of interior architecture in the South. We sought to understand our clients’ goals, create custom solutions and ensure the process was seamlessly enjoyable throughout. Our commitment to our clients’ success, our understanding of their needs, and our investment in their people yields the great design we are now known for.

Invisioning InVisioning was developed to help our clients with the design process throughout the lifecycle of a project. Through the use of object based CAD software, we are working in 3D at all times, even during preliminary Test-Fits. As a result, we are able to show our clients how the space will look in 3D at a stage when decisive decision making will quicken the overall process.

RENDERING

As the preliminary drawings progress, we are able to modify and update the 3D views as changes are requested to allow the client to walkthru the space and view updates in real time. When the design becomes finalized, we use a software package in-house that gives a photorealistic view of the design and implements the actual finishes. This powerful software, used by Sony and Pixar, allows clients to actually ‘see’ the final space. The last phase of inVisioning is the use of a tablet-based application that allows the client to have the final working drawings and images linked to the actual CAD-based information model. This app gives the client and the contractor the ability to access a complete set of current drawings with the touch of a finger. Using touch based controls, the app allows simple navigation around and through the workspace.

Inventure worked on this 41,244 square foot renovation of Four Seasons Hotel Houston’s reception, staircase and lobby. The renovation also included Bayou & Bottle, Four Seasons’ newest lobby bar, and bourbon concept that features the first-ever Topgolf ® simulation golf room. Inventure Design served as Architect of Record for the project, while Meyer Davis completed the interior design. A high contrast and rich color scheme was used throughout the space. The existing lobby carpet was replaced with dark stone flooring, which transitioned into a high contrast marble and wood staircase. The columns were wrapped in the same marble, with each slab meeting effortlessly. A new reception desk was crafted from African Soapstone with brass detailing.

19

Bayou & Bottle moves onto hardwood flooring and evokes feelings of a masculine library. It features wood detailing, a double-sided fireplace, bourbon lockers, and a leather-wrapped marble bar. The interior design team chose furniture in sophisticated and saturated tones of cognac, navy, and hunter green.

Interior Architecture YEAR COMPLETED

2015

RIDE Indoor Cycling, originating in Austin, Texas, has expanded its presence into the Historic Houston Heights. Keeping with their culture, the studio presents a modern and clean design with custom graphics and changing LED light fixtures. The space is adjacent to a yoga studio, so sound isolation and acoustics played an important role in the design of the ceiling and walls. Although it was only 2,130 sf, design and construction encountered many obstacles throughout the life-cycle of the project. Our team worked with the City of Houston to establish the required number of parking places and design two ADA compliant restrooms and one ADA compliant shower room without compromising usable square footage for the spin room and reception area.

Other unforeseen obstacles included adding exterior HVAC and electrical equipment and patching major leaks in the existing roof and storefront. Through dedication to the project and consistent interaction with the client, the RIDE space was successfully completed. The trendy studio has flourished since its opening, adding a cutting-edge retail component to our expansive portfolio.

The Inventure team took inspiration from the buildings’ industrial features to create a modern space with pops of color. This project brought together both our interiors and graphics team. Custom signage was designed that incorporated the Skyline branding and reinforced their love of animals. A playroom was designed with fun graphics and a grass play area to truly cater to the Skyline canine patients. The hospital has three exam rooms, an x-ray room, a large open treatment area with a sizable surgery room. Inventure worked closely with veterinary equipment and medical casework suppliers. This attention to detail and coordination made for a smooth project deliverable.

Customer experience and brand reinforcement were the cornerstones of this project for Mustang Cat. As part of a larger facility improvement master plan, the first solution Inventure delivered was to improve the layout, flow, and branding opportunities for their sales desk and will-call area. As for the exterior of the building, the designers have to work around the existing building facade, as well as propose schemes that help preserve the large live oak trees on site. A unique goal to this project is to design an outdoor equipment sales “showroom” that enables Mustang Cat to tell its unique story.
