A chip resistor is compact, surface mounted electronic component that is designed to proffer resistance to electric current through it. The mini resistor is designed to have similar characteristics or form factor as other surface mount. It differs from classic axial lead resistors in physical terms only and it fulfills the same function as in case of electronic circuits. The single resistor is passive and has a set value component, while resistor array has several resistors in a package. These resistors have battery of terminal leads whereas the chip resistor arrays are in line with several kinds of pin that are representing a single pin for each resistor in the array. The chip resistors can be classified on basis of its usage. For instance, some of the resistors are perfect for power supply, automotive industry, medical industry and some for aerospace industry.
