V D was the result of Mexican based CIBRIAN Arquitectos, a contemporary design, construction and interiors specialist working alongside the company’s founder and architect, Fernando Cibrian to create him a very personalised and individual home. The brief was to develop something that embodied Cibrian’s aspirations, and sense of escapism through its architectural design and interiors. The resulting effect was a substantial, five-storey residence, nestled within the 20-metre deep cliffs. One of the outstanding features of the property is the fabulous views facing out towards a duo of volcanoes and lush green golf course. Exquisite finishes and an eclectic
art collection give this property its awardwinning characteristics. The company also scooped a second award for Casa Valencia, commissioned by Pueblas State University. The brief here was to create a property for its annual raffle to raise student funding. The challenge was to build and fully furnish the family residence, based in Mexico’s Puebla, within a tight schedule of just four months. In a fine balance of form and functionality, Cibrian came up with a design featuring large interconnecting shapes that create volume and something that maximised the potential of this corner plot. Nordic styling is reflected throughout the interiors using a blend of different wood tones and neutral colour palette.
