ICT Symposium March 8, 2011 ISH 17:00-19:00

Aim is to gather ideas about innovation and developments in the field of educational ICT

Dear Parents, As schools are rapidly moving forward on the frontier of technology, ISH does not want to stay behind. Walking through the school, you will see many students working on their laptops, using computers in the labs or in the library. These trends are not without risk – addiction is one of the most serious issues, but also provides a lot of chances. And: if we as schools do not play an active role in the “digital development” of the children – industry will (and does already). For this Spring, ISH has scheduled a major strategic decision in the field of ICT. In preparation of it, we hold an ICT Symposium on the 8th March from 17.00 to 19.00 with the aim of gathering ideas about innovation and developments in the field of educational ICT and examine how ISH can be at the forefront of these developments. All stakeholders are invited. Please let me know if you are an expert in the field and are prepared to present your visions and expectations. You all will have received the e-mail and the letter concerning the start of the next school year. Please contact us if you have not got it. In the coming days, the post will deliver the Standard Terms and Conditions plus the Method of Payment form to your post box. I am glad to share with you that in this year’s fee adjustment we stay even below the official inflation rate (as normally applicable). Given the growing pressure on school places, I need to urge you to keep to the different deadlines stated in the papers, otherwise we have to offer your child’s place to the next applicant on the list. Finally, I can report on a most successful information evening about the IB programs with 170 parents attending the MYP and 80 attending the DP presentations. Thanks go to Mrs. Cunnane and Mrs. Fox for their presentations and Mrs. Hoogcarspel and Mr. Shaw for their support. It is good to see that the community responds in such a positive way to our offer of information about the learning programs. P.S. If your son/daughter is attending the Valentine’s party on Friday February 11, 2011 at ISH, you might want to make use of the offer of the Hungry Mind Beauty and Pampering
