ver the last three years we have tried to do precisely that. To go on. And we do carry on more dynamically that we could have ever imagined. Interiors from Greece has succeeded in becoming a truly international design platform that all foreigners of the sector recognize as the Greek representative in the international fairs and markets. For the season 2015-16, we have managed to be the official agency for the international fairs MADE expo (Milan) and May Design Series (London). Moreover, we have organized the Greek group participation in Salone del Mobile Milano where the Greek companies will show their products in a mutual, we could say complementary, stand of 230sm. The edition that you are holding in your hands reflects this dynamics. It reflects the fact that Interiors from Greece is a source

Cassandra introduces the new IDOLA Model IDOLA is a Greek word translated as “IDOLS”. The two opposed curved modules of the main structure are acting as idols, reflected on a mirror. IDOLA represents our design philosophy of curvature in front view. Keeping the same iconic elegance of curves for which the brand CASSANDRA has become known, the IDOLA model offers a level of style and ergonomy never seen before in its class. It can be described as a contemporary take on the classic luxury of 60’s modernism.
RED DOT for Convex & Yiannis Georgaras The collaboration of Convex, the Greek handle-manufacturing company, with the industrial designer Yiannis Georgaras has led to the RED DOT Award-winning. The metallic door handle, designed by Georgaras and produced by Convex was based on three main principles: elasticity, visual continuity and purity. Georgaras created an imaginary line between the lock and the handle, resulting in the metal losing its rigidity and gainin the most possible elasticity. At the same time, they are not used any kind of connecting elements such as screws and in this way, the handle looks like it magically attaches to the wooden door and it constitutes an integral part of it. The statement of the Jury was sufficient, “The clear, purist and decidedly elegant design is proof of great aesthetic and functional quality.”

design from greece
ver the past few years, Greek design has proven to be increasingly improving. DESIGN FROM GREECE has turn into synonym to Creativity and Innovation. Greek industrial designers have shown some really outstanding sample of work which some people consider even as artwork. Their manufactured products have been awarded to certain of the most prestigious international contests such as the RED DOT AWARD. On the other hand, the young generation of designers is thought to be the Greek design pioneers as they truly have the know-how to combine all suitable materials with the most functional and stylish designs. Besides, we should bear in mind that Greeks have been great craftsmen from the ancient to the recent times. So, it’s like the tradition is carried on.

Dpoint -Project hotel event A year later, DPOINT was back! This time, even more organized and during HOTELIA fair, it welcome all visitors to a highly distinct village, the DPOINT HOTEL VILLAGE. There, 6 industrial designers and architects - Andreas Varotsos (industrial designer), Sotiris Lazou (industrial designer), Aspasia Taka (architect), Manolis Metrides (architect), Giorgos Pitarokilis (mechanical engineer, industrial designer) and Yannis Georgaras (industrial designer) – showed six hotel rooms of different style and perception. Each one represented a different concept while at the same time responded to a public of different requirements. For the construction of the rooms, the designers and architects collaborated with production and material companies. It was the first time that a project of such importance for the sector took place in Greece, under the co-organization of HELEXPO and INTERIORS FROM GREECE. Around these model rooms, dozens of companies which are active in the hotel equipment sector, showed their latest products in stands of mutual construction and philosophy. Goal of this project was the creation of a uniform space where
the exhibitor cast the visitor’s eyes on the product itself and not on an impressive and expensive stand. All these show that Greek design not only is a nice idea but a competitive product that gains ground year by year. Get to know it!

f we go back in 2012 we would see a group of companies sharing the same vision, that is to say, to promote the Greek-designed products worldwide. Based on this mutual dream, the companies Candia-Strom, Corpus, De-code, Elite Strom, Lattas, Papadatos and Morphos, under the communication strategy of Interiors from Greece, took part in the international furniture fairs imm Cologne and Salone del Mobile and showed to the world that Greek production and design does exist. Today, and after three consecutive participations, Greeks are taking part to Salone del Mobile Milano (14-19/42015) for the fourth time. More particularly, the Greek companies that will participate to this year’s Salone del Mobile as well as the biannual Euroluce, are the following: 10Deka, Al2, Archbone, Candia Strom, Coco-mat, de-code, Gyllos Furniture Concepts, Christine
Lighting, Malapetsas, Mia Collection, Papadatos and Petridis Lighting. Highlight of this year’s organization is the GREEK GROUP CONCEPT, a Greek mission of 4 manufacturers (10Deka,Archbone, Candia Strom, De-code, Gyllos Furniture Concepts) showcasing in a mutual stand of 230sm. Interiors from Greece has cooperated exclusively for this purpose with architecture practice Aspasia Taka Architecture Lab that is responsible for the design of the stand. In this way, different kinds of products, designs, innovations and complete solutions that are made in Greece will be exhibited in a space of mutual design and philosophy. Carrying on, a month later, in May 17-19, Greek companies are meeting again in a fair of different concept. May Design Series London is held during the last period for the design events and wishes to be the place where all crucial decisions are taken and all significant contacts are realized. In this organization, the Greek companies to take part are three: Eliton, Papadatos and Kontaki Design. It goes without saying that for 2015, Greek producers have scheduled a grand opening towards the international markets. Especially, if we consider that they were also present at two previous truly important trade fairs, imm Cologne and Made expo, in January and March respectively. During imm cologne, companies such as Candia Strom, coco-mat and Kitwood showed their latest products while the swiss-established Shibui of the Greek industrial designers Constantinos Hoursoglou and Athanasios Babalis was also present. As far as MADE expo is concerned (organized by FLA Events, the company that also organizes Salone del Mobile Milano), it is one of the top trade fairs regarding buildings and materials. In this case, the Greek companies that participated were the following: Interno Doors, Alchimica, Elval Colour, Convex and Mathios.

o4 g reek group concept worldwide
he idea of group missions was first launched in 2012 in the fairs imm Cologne and Salone Internazionale del Mobile. Three years later, more organized, company orientated and focused on the final goal – the effective promotion of Greek producers – the idea goes one step beyond. Following the example of Denmark, Norway or France, Greek furniture companies have decided to join “forces” and take part in Salone del Mobile Milano 2014 under a mutual concept, the GREEK GROUP CONCEPT. A group of companies has been coordinated under a mutual perspective; the relaunching of a more dynamic and branded
concept that will lead to the desired outcome, that is to say, the Greek products to prevail in the international markets. For 2015, INTERIORS FROM GREECE in collaboration with Aspasia Taka, Architects Creative Lab have formed a joint stand of 230sm where four participating companies will show together their products and innovations. More thoroughly, GREEK GROUP CONCEPT is showing in Salone del Mobile Milano (14-19/4/2015), in an open space stand of mutual visual philosophy. The benefits of such an endeavor are plenty and distinct. Let’s present you the most significant of them: • Participating companies with a small stand, will have the chance to enjoy the benefits of better location as well as overall better promoted participation. • The launching of such project aims at establishing Greece in the minds of professionals as a strong brand regarding design and furniture. • Common / equal utilization of the visitors by all participating companies. Target on impress and increasing dynamics. • Enhanced media & public relations activity that will lead to a more efficient participation. • Companies of different fields of activity - they manufacture different kinds of products - cooperate so as to attract a mutual target group. • The image of Greek product and consequently, Greek design is reinforced. • Companies will have the opportunity to take part in international fairs overseas like USA and Asia.
It is planned that, year by year, the specific concept will become even more dynamic as it schedules to be present in more and more international fairs aiming at approaching different types of markets. In this way, Greek companies will be able to enter to more particular markets (e.g. overseas) which they could not approach otherwise.
