RESUMES OF KEY IHT STAFF Keith Lockwood B Eng C Eng MICE MIEI Director Keith is the Director responsible for Inter Hydro Technology, and has been a Director of our parent company R G Parkins & Partners Ltd since 1999. Keith oversees the design and installation of hydro electric power schemes, flood risk assessments, analysis of river flows and hydraulic modelling. On the civil and structural aspect of the business, Keith has been involved in housing development sites, bespoke houses, boathouses, foot-bridges, barn conversions, theatres, hotel extensions and car showrooms. Chris Brett I Eng MIET MICE Associate Director Chris has been a hydro engineer since 1994, including six years as Hydro Sales Manager with Gilbert Gilkes & Gordon Ltd. He is responsible for providing mechanical and electrical engineering input to projects being studied and managed by Inter Hydro Technology / R G Parkins & Partners Ltd. Chris has a wealth of experience in small hydro gained from travelling worldwide specifying appropriate solutions to project developers and providing input to economic analysis of small hydro projects.

David R Bond B Eng (Hons) Associate Director Dave has been with Inter Hydro Technology since 2004, beginning principally as a structural and civil engineer, before specialising in hydro scheme design. Dave is now responsible for the delivery of all stages of design, from initial site assessment and feasibility studies, to detailed design, tender packages and contract documents. He has extensive experience in obtaining consent for schemes, plus the management of other necessary disciplines including ecology, hydrology and M&E. Prior to joining the IHT team, Dave was a project engineer at British Nuclear Fuels Plc.


Nic Smith B Eng M.Sc C.Eng MICE Senior Engineer Nic is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over seven years experience in the profession, primarily in the fields of water engineering and project management. Working for leading consultancies in the UK and in New Zealand, Nic has developed an extensive knowledge of water and drainage design, construction and contract administration with various forms of contract. This knowledge base is currently employed in developing a number of small scale hydro-power developments on behalf of Inter Hydro Technology, where Nic’s skills as an accomplished project manager are also of use in delivering schemes on time and to budget. Chris Scott IEng, ACIWEM, HNC (Civil Engineering) Senior Engineer Chris Scott has over 20 years’ experience in civil engineering in the water sector, from feasibility studies to the planning, design and implementation of river related projects. He has extensive experience in the development and application of hydrodynamic models for use in fluvial flood risk and detailed hydraulic design. Chris is a proven project manager, managing numerous commissions for public and private clients. In this role he has managed multi-disciplinary teams assessing ecology, geomorphology, town planning and stakeholder consultation. Clare de Villanueva MSci (Hons) Hydro Engineer Clare has been a hydro engineer with Inter Hydro Technology since February 2008. Her principal area of work has been in conducting detailed studies into the suitability of hydropower developments. She has been responsible for extensive studies for the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Park, the Forest of Bowland AONB and the local National Trust. These studies included mapping, site surveys, and hydrological analysis as well as liaison with the Environment Agency, planners, ecologists and archaeologists. She has also conducted several flood risk assessments in England and Scotland as well as drainage surveys and ground investigations. Prior to joining IHT, Clare worked as principal field and lab geologist for Marathon PGM Corp in North western Ontario, Canada.


George Hartley MEng Graduate Engineer George graduated from the University of Bristol in 2009 with a Master’s degree in Engineering Design. His dissertation focused on the design and demonstration of a small, low head hydropower turbine for use in off-grid locations. Throughout his degree, George had work placements in different engineering disciplines, including manufacturing, civil engineering and a year in aerospace. He started with Inter Hydro Technology as a graduate engineer in April 2010.

AUXILIARY STAFF FROM R G PARKINS & PARTNERS LTD Geoff Graham BSc (Hons) CWEM MCIWEM Principal Engineer Geoff is a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager with 15 years experience in hydrology, hydraulics, mapping and management.

He is

responsible for undertaking flood risk assessments, drainage design, hydraulic and hydrologic modelling and mapping. At WS Atkins, he was the National Manager for the Environment Agency Strategic Flood Risk Management Framework. He had overall responsibility for Atkins delivery of Catchment Flood Management Plans and catchment wide Flood Warning Management Plans including the River Eden, River Alt and Crossens and River Trent. Geoff has also presented twice at the annual Defra Conference for Flood and Coastal Engineers including a paper on using Multi Criteria Analysis (MCA) for prioritising flood warning improvements in a catchment.

Technical staff Inter Hydro Technology and R G Parkins & Partners Ltd use the same pool of experienced and skilled technical staff, as shown in our company structure.

Having a blend of experience in design disciplines such as structural and civil engineering, coupled with hydraulics and hydrology, ensures that Inter Hydro Technology are able to seamlessly deliver projects from initial concept to construction and commissioning.
