CASE STUDY Chapter Street – Creating a show flat for a new Art Deco-style residential development THE BRIEF Barratt London requested a full show flat interior design treatment from the In:Style Direct team for a high-end, two-bedroom apartment in an Art Deco style development. The team had to create a scheme that included furnishings, wallpaper and decor, window dressings, fitted furnishings such as a built-in TV wall unit, ceiling and wall lights, all in keeping with the style of the development. THE PLAN The team chose a bespoke furnishing package, allowing them to mix and match to best meet the client’s needs. For the decor, the interior designers kept it high end and contemporary yet were able to mirror the Art Deco style with great touches such as the ceiling pendant in the dining room and the side tables. For the windows, the team chose sheer curtains for privacy and to increase light flowing into the space, coupled with lined curtains

to create a sense of drama. Every detail was important to reassure potential buyers of Barratt Homes’ integrity. The whole installation was competitively priced at £100k, and installed and completed within eight weeks. THE RESULT The show flat with its contents and a further six units in the development sold within a month for their full list price. The show flat was also used in marketing materials to generate interest in further developments for Barratt London. The team was asked to furnish half the units in the Chapter Street development for clients who had visited the show flat and Barratt London asked them to dress for sale a number of other properties on the strength of Chapter Street’s show flat.

CASE STUDY Thurston Point – A stunning show flat and 110 beautiful rental homes

L&Q purchased the showflat’s furnishings as well as In:Style Direct’s competitively priced furnishings for the additional 110 flats, leasing them to tenants as part of the tenancy agreements, their rents covering these additional costs. CASE STUDY Barons Court, Zone 1 – Stylish, practical furnishings for a 50 bedroom HMO THE BRIEF The client wanted to create 50 bedrooms in the building, together with a large living room – all furnished to a high standard. A competitive cost was crucial, while the turnaround time was tight and the project had to be completed to a high spec to complement the style of this west London development. THE PLAN Gold furnishing packs were chosen because of their quality and durability, while their sophisticated colour schemes achieved a harmonious look yet allowed for personalisation with primary hints of colour. In the bedrooms, divan beds were chosen for their small footprint and to provide good storage. Compact wardrobes minimised the use of floor space, maintaining a comfortable, spacious feel. Furniture installation and dressing each room were included in the cost. THE RESULT The project was completed in just three weeks for a cost of £50K, providing the client with exceptional value. Furthermore, the style of the furnishings complemented the overall design of the development and exceeded the client’s expectations.

CASE STUDY Best Western Hotel – Hotelier increases room rates following refurbishment by In:Style Direct THE BRIEF Best Western commissioned In:Style Direct to design and style two rooms at one of its boutique hotels. The rooms comprised a living area and kitchen and the design needed to complement the hotel’s distinct brand identity and character. THE PLAN In:Style Direct’s designers worked with the architects from the start of the project, making sure it was functional as well as beautiful, for example planning where essential items such as plug sockets should be placed. These issues are often given little thought at the initial stages of a design because the decor isn’t always considered at this point. The interior design team’s involvement early on ensured subsequent design and decoration ran smoothly. Kitchen cabinets and appliances were fitted and furnishings from the Diamond range of furnishings chosen for the sleeping area. The refurbishment, decoration, furnishing and styling was completed in just two months. THE RESULT The boutique hotel rooms had a distinctive and sophisticated look that delighted the client. CASE STUDY Dakar, Senegal – Stylish, comfortable furnishings at six apartments in Dakar apartment block THE BRIEF The client, British Petroleum (BP), had been paying for hotel accommodation for its overseas workforce in Dakar but this was proving expensive for the company and isolating for the workers. So to reduce costs and improve their lifestyle, the company purchased six large apartments in the same residential block, bringing in In:Style Direct to furnish the flats and create a real home for its employees. THE PLAN The 26 bedrooms and six living rooms, dining rooms and kitchens were all furnished using a mix of pieces from the Gold and Diamond furnishing packages. The furnishings were chosen to enhance the interior of each apartment with higher end furnishings used for high-level executives. Value-added extras such as mosquito nets, safes, BBQs and garden furniture were also provided. From the initial enquiry in October, the project was completed in April over a period of five days, with the installation team also dressing the apartments. THE RESULT At £185k, the packages represent a significant cost saving for the client on its workforce accommodation. In addition, the overseas employees now feel they have a home away from home where they can really relax. The client is so pleased with the quality and overall look of the furnished apartments that further talks are taking place to add to the project with fitted wardrobes and bespoke window dressings.

CASE STUDY St Stephens Gardens, 67 Units –

Creating contemporary interiors for rental apartments in a period residential building THE BRIEF In:Style Direct was asked to undertake the refurbishment of 67, studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom flats within a development, to bring them in line with modern standards and maximise living space. The project involved devising completely new floor plans, as well as plumbing, electrical works and decoration. THE PLAN An architect and structural surveyor worked with the interior designers to envisage how each unit could be improved. The layout was reconfigured, which involved major building works including replacing electrics and plumbing. The council was kept updated throughout on the plans and progress to ensure all building regulations were adhered to. Once the structural changes had been completed, the development was redecorated and furnished throughout to a high standard. THE RESULT The living areas were greatly improved and as a result the client was able to increase the asking rent for each unit. THE BRIEF A2Dominion approached In:Style Direct for expert advice on window dressings for 100 apartments that had already been decorated and furnished. The client required designs that would enhance each room and work well with the existing style and decor. The work was to be completed to a tight schedule. THE PLAN The team measured each window and assessed the requirements of each room. These details were sent to our manufacturing facility where all the curtains and blinds were produced. Once the dressings were ready, the team installed each one so that the
