october 12 Join the fourth annual Susan G. Komen Mid-Missouri Race for the Cure to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Participants follow a scenic course starting at Peace Park and traveling through downtown Columbia. The Komen Race for the Cure series began in 1983 with 800 participants and has since grown into a worldwide event with more than 1.7 million participants. october 19 Columbia is set to strike gold as fans at Faurot Field transform Memorial Stadium into a sea of gilded spirit for the annual Gold Rush football game. The Florida Gators travel to Columbia for the first time to do battle in the Tigers’ SEC home opener.
