Experience the exhilaration and inspiration of hearing, firsthand, what is on the mind of this extraordinary international artist!

Performing arts luminaries will share their thoughts on creative risktaking, transitional moments, and how they approach their work in today’s world of live performance. What factors weigh heaviest on the re-invention of a classic work, the re-creation of something from one genre to another, or cross-over performances that engage the widest range of audiences? Prepare to engage in this lively and interactive discussion!

New this year NEW! Artists and Presenters Confab: On Success, Failure and Privilege Sunday, 3-5 p.m. Three envelope-pushing artists and three risk-taking presenters candidly discuss success, failure and privilege with a provocative facilitator. Inspired by The Field’s 2013 “to fail and fail big” study of success and failure in the arts, each triad of artist, presenter, and facilitator will draw from real-life examples to take on questions like: “What inspires you? How does privilege empower or hinder success? What role does failure play, individually, and as a field?” The culmination session will engage speakers and audience to identify big ideas that have emerged around risk, experimentation and growth – and what we might do collectively to support and sustain the creativity and passion that is at the core of the presenting field. Curated by Jennifer Wright Cook, Executive Director, The Field.

NEW! 5 Minutes to Shine Monday, 10-11 a.m. Ten of your colleagues from a wide range of experiences in the field will share their BIG IDEAS in the fast-paced pecha kucha format.
