It was a matter of having the conviction to change or keep things as they were.” Advice to the next gen: “First, go for it. There’s a constant conversation that the audience is dying for chamber music. I don’t believe it. There’s always more people — devote 50 percent of your energy to outreach. That will create an audience for the next generation. It will live if we work at it.”

Advice to the next gen: “Without risk, there is no reward. Don’t be afraid to take risks – calculated risks. Be confident that what you’re doing is good enough. If you’re at YPCA, it probably is. Oh, and you’re going to need a lot of coffee.”
