orking primarily with film, Clare West studied black and white photography in London, undertaking workshops with many leading artists in the field including Richard Kalvar and the late Mary Ellen Mark.

Her ‘Line|age’ series is a personal and creative musing on the subject of women. Taking her carefully sourced collection of vintage photographs as a starting point, she uses them to reflect on ideas of heritage and the roles played in society, pairing them directly with her own images to form diptychs.
