aucteq Founder & Student: Valentin Kramer Entrepreunership Program 2017/2018

A major challenge for the biopharmaceutical industry are high manufacturing costs. In pre-production processes cell cultures are manually transferred multiple times from small bioreactors to increasingly larger ones resulting in high costs for labor and material and high contamination risks. Former biotechnology student at the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences Valentin Kramer decided that there must be a better way. He invented a flexible bioreactor that expands with cell growth. This way the pre-production process is cut down to one single step reducing cost and risk. Coached by the entrepreneurship team of the inno.space the founders successfully competed in several business plan competitions and received the EXIST-Gründerstipendium from the Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. His startup “AUCTEQ Biosystems - The bioreactor (r)evolution” was nominated one of the TOP 50 start-ups 2017 in Germany.
