Naidu’s Padayatra is like morning walk, evening retreat: YSRCP Hyderabad, April 26: Describing TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s Vastunna Meekosam Padayatra as an exercise of evening retreats and morning walks, YSR Congress party said on Friday his Padayatra will have no place in Andhra Pradesh history. Drawing out an analytical comparison between the Padayatra undertaken by the late Dr. YSR in the scorching summer of 2003 and the Padayatra Naidu has been undertaking on early mornings and midnights, YSR Congress Ti r u p a t i M L A B h u m a n a Karunakara Reddy told media that Naidu’s Yatra is an endless tragic tour. Naidu has been undertaking his Padayatra like morning walks and

evening retreats like so many lakhs of people. “He is also walking during the dead of the night as he doesn’t get sleep and want others to sleep,” Karunakara Reddy said

in a sarcastic note. Bhumana said that YSR’s Praja Prasthanam, aimed at mingling with people and understanding people’s problems in order to

mitigate their suffering, was a historical event. “But, Naidu has been walking when there are no people to console and where there are no people to get assurances from him,” he said, adding his Padayatra will have no place in history. “For every 100 km, you are losing an MLA and till date you have lost 16 MLAs. What for you are erecting pylons for every 500 km or 1000 km? What is it that you have achieved?” he asked Naidu. Karunakara Reddy said Naidu remained a rejected person as he had done nothing for the people during his 9-year tenure as CM and during his 9-year term as Opposition Leader. “You will continue to be so,” he told Naidu.

The Chief Secretary stated in her letter to the Karnataka CS Mr S.V. Ranganath that there is acute shortage of water in Jurala Project which is adjacent to the border of Karnataka State, and it is linked with the inflows coming from the Narayanapur Project in Karnataka. The available water in Jurala Reservoir is only about 1.00 TMC

against the minimum summer requirement of 3.00 TMC, both for drinking water purpose and also to save about 18,000 acres of standing crops from getting dried up. In particular, the Krishna River basin did not receive adequate supply of water to meet the minimum demands in the Andhra Pradesh both for drinking water and irrigation purposes. She mentioned that due to inadequate rains, the total inflow into Krishna River in Andhra Pradesh has been only 197 TMC against the normal average of 821 TMC.

Coalgate: CBI director files affidavit in SC; admits law min's interference New Delhi: Setting off a political bombshell, CBI Director Ranjit Sinha on Friday submitted before the Supreme Court that the agency's status report on coal allocation scam was "shared" with Law Minister Ashwani Kumar "as desired by him" and that senior officials of PMO and Coal ministry had also seen it. Sinha's two-page affidavit filed on the direction of the apex court contradicts the claim made by CBI counsel on the last date of hearing that the coalgate scam report was not shared with any member of the government. "I submit that the draft (status report)of the same was shared with Law Minister as desired by him

prior to its submission before the Supreme Court....It was also shared with one joint secretary level officer each of Prime Minister's Office and Ministry of Coal as desired by them," the affidavit said. The affidavit triggered a political storm with the Opposition saying the Law Minister's continuance in office has become untenable and

demanded his resignation. On his part, Kumar said, "Truth will prevail". The CBI Director said whatever he has to say, it was before the apex court. In his affidavit, Sinha assured the apex court that the agency will not share further status reports in this case with any member of the political executive. He also said that the latest status report being filed today has not been shared with any political executive in "any manner whatsoever". "I confirm that the present status

report being filed in this court has not been shared with any political executive in any manner whatsoever. "In respect of further status reports of the investigation and inquiry required to be filed in this matter before this court, I undertake and assure this court that the same shall not be shared with any political executive," the affidavit said. The affidavit belies the claim made by Additional Solicitor General Harin Raval on behalf of CBI on March 12 that the probe report in the scam has not been shared with any member of the government and it is only shared with the apex court after being vetted by the CBI director.

CBI director’s affidavit has vindicated our stand: YSRCP Hyderabad, April 26: The YSR Congress Party reiterated on Friday that the affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court by the CBI Director Ranjit Sinha on the investigation agency’s status report on the coal allocation scam has proved once again that the Congress-led UPA has been dictating terms to the CBI and using it as a tool to suit its political gains. Addressing a media conference at the party headquarters here, YSRCP Political Affairs Committee coordinator Konatala Ramakrishna said the CBI Director’s affidavit has vindicated the party stand that Congress bigwigs have been directing the investigation of the party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s case in order to deny bail to him. “From the very beginning of the case, we have been arguing that the case against Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy is a politically motivated one. Ranjit Sinha’s affidavit that the status report on the coal scam has been vetted by the Law Minister Ashwini Kumar and the

joint secretaries of the PMO and the Coal Ministry has vindicated our stand beyond any doubt,” he asserted, adding all the charge sheets filed so far in the case have been vetted and dictated by the officials owing allegiances to the Congress party. As per the business rules, CBI need not consult any official outside its purview on the course of investigation of cases except for on the administrative matters. “But the development has proved that the CBI has lacked in autonomy in the

investigation of the cases and also fully justified the long pending demand for providing statutory powers to it to run independently without any political interference,” he said. Ramakrishna said while the Government has so far not declared whether or not the 26 GOs were correct, the act of bringing up Jagan Mohan Reddy’s name to the first accused from being 50th accused in the case has proved that the Congress has been writing screenplay to the CBI’s action. The

CBI has also backtracked on its promise of filing a single charge sheet in the case, he said, adding it was all directed by Delhi. “The CBI raids on DMK leader Stalin soon after the party’s withdrawal of support to the UPA and the calling off the raids at the instance of the PM and Finance Minister P Chidambaram had also vindicated our stand that the case against Jagan Mohan Reddy is a politically motivated one and stands as victimization as in case of Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav,” he pointed out. Ramakrishna faulted the Government for not giving priority in the appointment of Telugu IAS officers to the post of Chief Secretary even though they are eligible as per their seniority. “All these days you are talking of importance being given to Telugu language. But in the appointment of top bureaucratic posts, you are opting for non-Telugus. What happened to the Telugu pride?” he asked Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy.
