Have you ever heard of the term ecdysis? It is a term scientists use for the process of snakes shedding their skin. This is parallel to what Joshua Hughbanks, an artist in San Francisco’s Bulldog Tattoo Shop felt he needed to do with his hair just a few weeks ago. He wanted to chop off seven years of growth to begin anew. This story began in 2014 when Joshua made the abrupt decision to sell all of his equipment at his shop in Denver, Guilt by Association, his possessions, and his car.
