Some of them are busy to release a specific updated version of the virtual keyboard, which is called the mini Bluetooth computer. Contrary to the virtual keyboard this new tool doesn’t need any physical equipment at all. It exists of a small piece of metal with a lens in it. In fact, it just looks like a pen with some kind of camera in it. This lens radiates, as you can see on the picture, a ‘whole’ visual computer. The keyboard as well as the screen will be reflected via a blue laser on the relevant surfaces. Referring to the ease of space it’s an improvement, but the problems, which were mentioned at the disadvantage paragraph, are not solved yet.

Technology has not stood still since then and nowadays we can’t live without television, internet, mobile phone, etc.. Something they never heard off 50 years ago, seems nowadays an express train that can’t stop driving through our media landscape. The media landscape today is multifunctional, fast and always up to date. Our world is digitized already, but where will it end? What will the future looks like 20 years from now? Digitalization represents an object, image, sound, document or an analogue signal by subtle set of its points or samples. This is what we called “Digital Representation”. Which simply defined, means capturing an analogue signal in digital form. The digitalization already started with the creation of the telephone, radio and television. In the nineties there was a tremendous growth, and development by using Internet. From then the digitalization is in enormous speed evolved. Nowadays, the Internet is impossible to imagine out of our lives, and it has a big influence in this digital worlds.

This way the central computer needs power, but these other computers don’t need much power at all because they don’t really have to process anything. The central computer does that for them. This one central computer might be even strong enough to power a whole group of houses. Eventually, this will lead to less stuff in the house, which leads to

The 3D movies are made with two cameras, each recording an image for each eye. Consequently, true color stereo requires two projectors to shine on the screen. With a separate image for each eye, this is how you will get the feeling as if the objects are flying off the screen and in your direction, and creepy characters reaching out to grab you, wearing 3-D glasses makes you feel like you're a part of the action not just someone sitting there watching a movie

The reason why I am mentioning OLED is that because of this technology it gives me the possibility to talk about the Roll top laptop. What is this and why is this so great?

It is German designer Evgeny Orkin of Orkin Design who has come with this new concept with the support of Schlagheck-Design. Orkin thought of the rollup laptop when he was still in school. He was interning at Schlagheck-Design in Germany under the direction of Julian Schlagheck, who specializes in product design, print design and product development.

Rolltop Today consumers can only buy a computer and a graphic tablet with a touch screen separately, but they are not able to use them as one laptop. So for Evgeny the main goal for the Roll top was to combine the laptops monitor and graphic tablet into one gadget and therefore avoid additional accessories. The device also comes with a flexible display, which can be rolled and carried wherever you want. Because of the OLED-technology the display is very thin, which makes it possible for the Roll Top to roll in and out and it does not need a backlight like current laptops. But if you think this will go at the expense of your screen quality you are wrong. It is even better then the quality of laptops today. So thanks to its OLED-Display technology and a multi touch screen, it can be used as a laptop while it weighs as much as mini notebook. Most of the components for the Rolltop already exist today such as the main board, processor, memory and working memory. It comes with a 13 inches screen while being used as a laptop and when being used as a monitor, you could get a 17 inches screen. The 17 inches screen can be used as a touch screen, but when used as a laptop it features a full-fledged keyboard so you can type with both hands. The Rolltop does not have a CD/DVD reader or Floppy disc, which in the future we will see slowly disappear. Roll top covers power supply, multi media integrated pen, the mouse, keyboard, webcam and cable all integrated in the belt. The stylus, power adapter and USB ports are all detachable. And the OLED display also means much lower power consumption and an "outstanding" battery life. It certainly is an all-in-one gadget.


So again in a nutshell the Rolltop combines the laptop, monitor and graphic tables without any problem, it is an all-in-one gadget that integrates the power supply, loudspeaker, laptop bag and mouse into one. You don’t have to carry extra accessories. Due to the new available technology, the design is very compact and possesses a completely new outlook.

After praising the Roll top the big question is when are we able to buy the Roll top. The little German company needs the capacity of a big company such as Panasonic or Samsung on order for Orkin to produce his Roll top. Consumers already are thrilled, so it will not take long for companies to show interest in the Roll top.
