1962 January 1 Mon. Dear Diary, Today was O.K. The morning went fast. Katie is so stubborn. Daddy was silly to get up so early. I need some new winter clothes. How am I going to get them? Again in Church, Katie was stubborn. After Mass, things got dull. I’ve got a crush on the boy in the Drug Store. I was afraid Mom and Dad would have an argument over dinner. They didn’t. Babysitting was fun. Everyone was asleep. Yours, Linda

I did all my homework and found lots of things for my history project. Dr. Kildare was real good. If he had put on a skullcap, I’d die.
