than sailing with a full line up of entertainment both on and off the water. Fremantle will celebrate the ISAF Sailing World Championships with a host of public activities centred on the Esplanade Park in the Worlds’ ‘Village,’ close to the sailing action on Bather Bay. Live music, theatre, fashion, international cooking demonstrations and art exhibitions will make Perth 2011 an extraordinary event for the entire community.

The Perth 2011 Sailing World Championships is expected to generate approximately $41 million for the Western Australian economy and has strong backing from both the Western Australian and Federal Governments, as well as substantial commercial sponsorship. Spectators will be able to take in the sailing action up close with the final medal races contested on a course bringing the yachts just metres from the main vantage points lining Bathers Bay in Fremantle. n
