Social Network MyDish to Offer Users the Chance to Feature in a New Cookbook MyDish, a popular social network for food lovers, is currently running a competition for its users, allowing them to submit their own dinner party menu recipes that will eventually be compiled into a published cookbook. Asking members of the site to London (I- Newswire) February 20, 2012 - Established in 2007, MyDish is a social network that allows users to search, share and store recipes. Home to an ever increasing active online membership, it is fondly described by users as the 'Facebook for foodies'. The new competition, called the "52 Menu Challenge", was conceived by MyDish founder Carol Savage to reward MyDish members for their loyalty and contribution to the site. The idea behind the 52 Menu Challenge is for users to send in a three course menu, containing a favourite self- created starter, main and dessert. Each week on a Friday, the best entry will be chosen to feature on MyDish's popular blog, with each menu to be published in the new cookbook at the end of the year. As an added incentive to participate, one overall winner will be chosen from the entrants of the competition to be honoured with a dedicated feature in the book. This lucky person will also win the opportunity to attend a special cooking day, where they will learn how to prepare restaurant- quality dishes by top pro chefs. My Dish founder Carol Savage said: "We are always getting asked for desserts and starters to go with a main course so that people can put together a whole menu to entertain friends and family at home. So we are publishing a different menu each week and giving people the opportunity to have their favourite dinner party recipes published in our book compiling the best dinner party menus across the year. In addition the most popular menu as voted by our members will be given an cookery lesson experience " For those who feel up to the Menu Challenge, taking part is simple- just register as a member on the MyDish.co.uk site and then formulate an original menu that involves a starter, main and dessert, and send it into MyDish at email@example.com. Those that are successful in having their menu creations selected, will be notified via email of their inclusion on the blog and ultimately, in the cookbook. The Menu Challenge continues over the year so users have multiple chances to have their menu published if they are not successful the first time around. So whether your menu involves classic chicken recipes, a lasagna recipe, or more obscure types of meat and vegetables MyDish wants to hear from you.
