he fair has developed into an important Swiss marketplace for new and contemporary art. International galleries and artists present current positions of art in all formats. In addition to modern masters, ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH offers a broad overview of current contemporary art and is at the same time a platform for making it accessible to a broad public. The fair was founded in 1999. It has already hosted the most diverse currents of modern art and created an audience-rich forum for countless artists, galleries, and art mediators from over 80 countries. As an art market where the focus is on personal encounters, the annual exhibition serves as a forum for lively exchange. Thus, the discussions with artists at the exhibition stands are a constant and popular part of the fair. During the extensive renovation of the Convention Center (an important building in the history of Swiss architecture), the exhibition moved to Zurich West and took place there as planned and successfully as a public exhibition even during the coronavirus pandemic. Art-loving visitors can now once again expect a wide range of works of art in autumn 2022. In addition to paintings and sculptures, they can also discover graphic works as well as photography and video art. As a discovery fair, ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH offers genuine experiences “in the real world”. The immediate experience, the personal relationship with the work of art and the resulting sensual pleasure are in the foreground. And of course, the works can also be purchased directly.
