Hugo Mendoza estudió en el Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC). A partir de 1998 trabaja como realizador, fotógrafo, editor y posproductor. Ha impartido diversos talleres de fotografía y posproducción. Su trabajo busca provocar en las personas una reflexión acerca de los temas que expone.
