Chill Out and Read! Adult Winter Reading Program

Give yourself an excuse to stay inside and read this January with our Winter Reading Program for adults. Just read four books during the month of January to receive a sweet treat and enter a drawing for cozy gifts to warm up your winter. Love talking about a good book as much as you do reading it? Then take a look at what our book clubs are reading and join the conversation.

Celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day Saturday, February 2 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm The second annual Take Your Child to the Library Day will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 2. The Indianola Public Library will be offering a variety of activities for children of all ages whose parents bring them to the library that day. Activities include story times, featuring Mo Willem’s Elephant and Piggie books, face painting, craft tables and games. Make a date with your child to visit the Library. As always, Library cards are available at no charge (with photo ID) if you happen to still need one.

Registration required. All computer classes are free but class size is limited. Registration begins 30 days prior to each session. All classes held at the Indianola Activity Center. Introduction to the Internet Wednesday, April 3, 10:00-11:00 am Wednesday, May 1, 6:30-7:30 pm Test the waters of internet searching in this introductory class to the internet. Email Basics Wednesday, April 10, 10:00-11:00 am Wednesday, May 8, 6:30-7:30 pm Create an email account or just learn how to use the one you have better in this introduction to email course. Little or no computer experience necessary. Introduction to Microsoft Word Wednesday, April 17 and 24 from 10:00-11:00 am Wednesdays, May 15 and 22, 6:30-7:30 pm Learn how to create letters and documents using Microsoft Office Word 2007 in this two-part class. Little or no prior computer experience necessary.

Homebound?

The Library’s Homebound Delivery Service offers: books in hardcover or paperback, large print or regular; audiobooks; movies and music CDs. If you are homebound and unable to visit the Library on your own, please call Alice at 961-9418 for more information.

Knitting Help with UFOs Want to learn to knit? Or maybe you have one of those “I’m stuck and don’t know what to do” projects? These casual knitting sessions are for you. Bring in those UFOs (UnFinished Objects), learn how to knit, or just enjoy the company of your fellow knitters while working on a project. No registration or fees. Participants must bring their own yarn and needles. Thursdays, February 7, 14, 21 and 28 • 6:30 – 8:00 pm

Family Night at the Library

First Tuesday of each month • 7:00 pm Bring the whole family for 30 minutes of stories and activities for everyone. January Does not meet - Happy New Year!
