As a teenager growing up in Baltimore in the 1970s, Kevin Clash had very different aspirations from his classmates — he wanted to be a puppeteer. Combining archival footage with material from the present day, this film explores Clash’s story in vivid detail and chronicles the meteoric rise of Jim Henson in the process. This insightful documentary offers up a rare, behind-the-scenes look at Sesame Street and the Jim Henson legacy. Kevin Clash with Elmo.

Live From Lincoln Center: Renée Fleming @ The Penthouse Friday, April 6 at 9pm

Join Renée Fleming for an intimate performance featuring the rarely performed Knoxville Summer of 1915 by Samuel Barber, the program also marks the first television performance of songs from Fleming’s acclaimed new pop and indie-rock album, Dark Hope. A favorite of this Emmy Award-winning series as both performer and host, Fleming will also perform Broadway favorites and a special duet with popular vocalist Josh Groban. Renée Fleming.

Lidia Celebrates America: Weddings: Something Borrowed, Something New Tuesday, April 17 at 8pm

Join chef Lidia Bastianich to celebrate culture through food, with a focus on wedding traditions. Travel to New Orleans for an African-American wedding. Madhur Jaffrey will prepare classic Indian wedding dishes. The third wedding features a KoreanAmerican wedding with celebrity fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi. The final wedding examines the marriage of two cultures — Irish-American and Italian-American.

Goose Pond: The Story of a Wetland & Its Neighbors Sunday, April 22 at 2pm

Visit a wetland marsh in southwestern Indiana, the largest and one of the most successful wetland restorations of its kind in U.S. history. Early in Indiana’s history, the federal government began encouraging settlers to dredge, drain and tile Gosse Pond in an effort to make it suitable for farming. Because of the mucky soil and seasonal flooding, those efforts were only marginally successful. For years, attempts were made to restore the marsh to its original state as a refuge for the beautiful migratory birds that travel from the southern tip of South America to the Arctic.
