“ How we educate the mind will change with the times; how we cultivate the heart is and will remain timeless.”

— Basil Moreau, Founder Congregation of Holy Cross

Living Holy Cross values since 1918

For more than 100 years, Cathedral High School has been educating young people through a philosophy based on the revolutionary concepts of Holy Cross founder Basil Moreau.

Holy Cross Brother and Priest at Cathedral Cathedral is blessed to have a Holy Cross Priest and a Holy Cross Brother on staff. Rev. Emmanuel Babu Joseph Kallarackal, CSC, Ph.D., aka Father Emmanuel, is the Chaplain. Br. Roberto Jiminez, CSC, teaches 11th and 12th grade Religion and also serves as a liason to the Latino community. We are blessed to have these Holy Cross members at Cathedral as we educate the hearts and minds of our students.

Our Mission

Cathedral, a premier Catholic high school in the Holy Cross tradition, transforms the hearts and minds of a diverse group of students to have the competence to see and the courage to act. THE NINE CATHOLIC HOLY CROSS VALUES Divine Providence: We believe in God and all that God has planned for our future Hope: Trust in God’s power and goodness Family: The spirit that binds our minds and hearts in joys and sorrows Inclusiveness and Diversity: The call to be welcoming to people of all backgrounds and faiths Option for the Poor: The choice to put the needs of society’s most poor and vulnerable first among all social concerns Educating Hearts and Minds: The mind will not be cultivated at the expense of the heart Zeal: Making God known, loved and served Excellence: Striving to act to the best of our ability to be better people Integrity: Becoming more Christ-like in our words and deeds

“ Cathedral prides herself on being a college prep school, and Cathedral lives up to that promise. Even some of my medical school friends marveled at how I could get good grades and be involved in extracurriculars. I could do all of those things because Cathedral taught me time management and how to study.”

We educate hearts as well as minds. This means we strive to endow every graduate with the ability to perceive what actions are needed to make the world a better place, and the strength to bring about those changes. We thank our generous donors for embracing the opportunity to build a better Cathedral and for actively contributing their time, energy and financial resources to make the Cathedral experience the best it can be for students from all walks of life.

Innovations for Our Future

Expanding our commitment to an exceptional learning environment

Vision Cathedral will be the Catholic high school of the future, providing the best possible education for the individual student with a firm foundation in Holy Cross values.

The Innovation Center is a symbol of what is to come and a marker of Cathedral’s academic preeminence in Indianapolis. Our premier facility will push Cathedral to the forefront of education with a space that not only promotes interdisciplinary learning and exploration, but also will captivate our students with an enhanced academic approach to STEM. In accordance with our vision, to be the Catholic high school of the future, Cathedral’s Innovation Center uniquely positions us to educate students in transformational ways unlike any other school in the area.
