HOUSE OF THE TREMBLING MADNESS

Old Trembling Madness was the very first pub I visited after moving to York and it was love at the first sight. It would be natural to say I still have a fondness for this place. This small magical pub and beer shop with medieval interior offers the best craft beers, sharing platters and stews. If you’re not lucky enough to find a seat, don’t panic - they opened another bigger place nearby!

THE MONKEY AND THE DOG

This is a tiny place located in (let’s be honest) a not too attractive area, but if you are craving some proper Thai food they will help you out. Always fresh and cooked to order, they don’t cut corners here since every dish is full of flavour, nicely balanced and loaded with chunky crispy vegetables. Our standard order is Beef Massaman Curry and Pad Cashew Nuts and their sticky rice is just perfect.
