Where are you from?
I was born in Toronto, Canada, and I grew up there too.
Mauve recently released her debut album “Dream State”, which she partnered with #1 charting industry powerhouses.

Are you born to sing? Or apply for courses outside? If yes, how many years have you studied?
What is your favorite songs? And why?
My favorite songs are Waterfalls by TLC, Always Be My Baby by Mariah Carey, and Birmingham by Amanda Marshall.
I love 90s music!
I have been writing songs for over 12 years now.
I began taking singing lessons and doing piano lessons when I was young.

For 5 years, I have been playing at various festivals, events and restaurants around the Greater Toronto Area.
I have performed at one the biggest Canada Day celebrations at Toronto’s Centennial Park and at the YYZ LIVE Toronto Pearson Airport.
I was a featured artist at Toronto’s Diversity Fest at David Pecaut Square in the heart of Downtown.
Why did you like music composing and singing? What motivates you to do these?
I wrote most of the songs as I was moving away from a disappointing period of my life to a period that was more supportive and empowering for myself.
Writing these songs was a way for me to honour those emotions that you go through within different transitions of life.

I have a shitzu named Molly and I love playing with her and taking her for walks! M ly
Which musical instrument did you use for music composing?
Normally, I use the piano to do song composing, because I feel more connected to the music that way and it brings a lot of emotions out of me.
How many years for you to learn musical instrument?

As a singer-songwriter, how old did you start to compose songs? And What is your first song?
I remember when I was around 8 years old, I was playing video games with my sister downstairs and suddenly this random melody came into my head with lyrics combined to it as well.
What is the inspiration for your first song?
I still remember this melody in my head to this day, and that was the first time an original piece of music was formed in my head.

Did you do the musical arrangement by yourself now, if not, will you study it too?
For me, it happens very organically because it has to first begin with something I am going through or inspired by, be it a positive or more tricky circumstance.
I can’t really force myself to create a song without being driven by anything, so whenever a spark of inspiration comes by, I make sure to work on it to shape it into something tangible. Sometimes if a catchy melody or idea pops into my head at the most random moment, I record a bit of it on my phone so that I can go back to it later without losing it.
When is your favorite time of day to create?
It really depends on when the inspiration comes to me during the day!
Any difficulties in doing song composing, and how did you overcome them?
I really allow myself to dig deep into my feelings and not hold back.
Most of our readers like your song – Dream State, could you please let us know what is the inspiration for this song?
The track takes listeners into a digital lullaby world with a heart-on -your-sleeve honesty and hint of a 90s rock edge similar to the likes of Olivia Rodrigo and GAYLE.
Does music help you in other areas of your life?
Writing songs is a way for me to honour any emotions that I’m going through in the different stages of life.
It really helps me to process what I am feeling and work through any rough spots that may come up.
Who is your biggest musician for your life?
I would love to be able to perform with the girl group TLC! They are my biggest inspiration.
I was just starting highschool when I came across their music and I was instantly drawn to how authentic they were.
They provided such a strong and meaningful message for their female listeners.
How do you develop your music business?
Work smart and believe in yourself!
Can you give some advice about music composing to beginners?
I would tell myself to not dread the tedious work so much. When you are pursuing music,
you want to jump right to the point when you are performing on stage all of the time,
but there are so many things that need to be done before you get to that point.
I am grateful now that I stuck with my practises and routines in order to keep growing stronger as a musician.
What do you usually eat to keep fit?
Are there any vitamins or other healthy foods to keep you looking your best?
Yes I take daily multi-vitamins daily for women and they help to supply me with good energy!
As a singer who needs to be presentable, so how do you keep your looks nice?
