November 1: Essex

River Tales: The River That Flows Beside Me, Connecticut River Museum, 67 Main Street, Essex. In November, we’ll read The River That Flows Beside Me by Charlotte Guillain, winner of the 2024 Bank Street College of Education Best Book of the Year (Ecology) and the Good Housekeeping Best Kids Book Award 2023. Members: FREE /Non-members: $3 per learner/ Museum admission is not included with ticket purchase.

November 4: Waterbury School’s Out!, Mattatuck Museum, 144 West Main Street, Waterbury. Drop off your child (ages 5+) daily for this day-long experience. Children will be immersed in the Museum’s galleries while learning about history and developing their art skills with unique materials and techniques. Camp hours – 9:30 AM –3:30 PM; FREE Before and After Care from 8 AM – 9 AM and 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM. $50 General, $45 Members, $25 Kids Adventure Pass.

November 8: Newtown

Fall Fair! Free Family Fun, Christ the King Lutheran Church, 85 Mt. Pleasant Road, Newtown. SHOP LOCAL! 45+ vendor tables selling locally handmade crafts, new and used items, something for everyone at this family friendly event. 9:00 - 3:00 FREE ADMISSION; 8:00 - $5 early bird entry for best selection!

November 8: Hartford

Second Saturdays for Families: STEAM Adventures, The Wadsworth, 600 Main Street, Hartford. Celebrate National STEAM Day and discover what happens when art and science collide! Create a color wheel to explore the science of light and enjoy a special reading of Spark: Jim West’s Electrifying Adventures in Creating the Microphone, by award-winning scientist Ainissa Ramirez, PhD, that highlights the inventor and his world-changing creation. 11am–2pm activities | Free admission all day

November 8-9: Stamford

Fall Stamford History Center Tag Sale Weekend, Stamford History Center, 1508 High Ridge Road, Stamford. The SHC Fall Tag Sale Fundraiser returns November 8th from 9am - 3pm with an Encore Day on November 9th. This is your opportunity to shop for antiques, furniture, art, books, jewelry and more, while supporting Stamford History Center. FREE

November 9: Hamden

Out & About in Connecticut NOVEMBER 2025

Crafters Care Events – Howliday Hoopla, Quinnipiac University, 275 MountCarmel Avenue, GYM, Hamden. Come join us for a day of shopping from local handmade CT artisans as we set up in the gym of Quinnipiac University on Sunday Nov 9, 2025 from 10 am - 4 pm. 60+ talented makers will be highlighted, selling everything from holiday decor, jewelry, pottery, baked items, gift ideas and so much more. Wide aisles and a spacious venue allow for easy viewing and buying. $5.00 cash only admission fee which is donated 100% to our non profit organization

November 9: Storrs

Husky Run & Ruck, UConn Student Rec Center, Hillside Dr, Storrs. Event participants will earn long sleeve technical shirts and enjoy post-race festivities taking place outside the UConn Student Recreation Center. Kids Fun Run: Bring the whole family and enjoy the kids run with options of a ¼ mile or ½ mile (for kids ages 2-11)! $12 - $47, Sunday 8:00 a.m. - 1 0:30 a.m

November 16: Old Saybrook

The Little Mermaid, Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, 300 Main Street, Old Saybrook. The show follows the dreams of a young girl who believes there is a better life for her out of the water. Of course there’s a handsome prince, an evil witch and boatloads of adventures and laughs along the way. With stunning scenery, eye catching costumes, original songs and not forgetting loads of audience participation, this show provides audiences of all ages with the perfect theatre experience. $17-$29

November 21 - December 31: New Haven

31st Annual Fantasy of Lights, Lighthouse Point Park, 2 Lighthouse Rd., New Haven. The Fantasy of Lights is a festive spectacle featuring more than 100,000 brilliant lights and 60 animated and stationary light displays, with many of them having been a family tradition to see for many decades. $10 per passenger vehicle, $25 per mini van (more than 15 people), $50 per full bus.

November 23: New Haven

New Haven Symphony Free Family Concert: Clap, Clap, Stomp! (Sensory-Friendly Performance) Dr. Reginald Mayo Early Learning Center, 185 Goffe Street, New Haven. “Clap, Clap, Stomp!” will feature lively concerts by fiddler Austin Scelzo and vocalist Charlie Widmer from the Bluegrass band On The Trail. Kids will dance along to upbeat songs and explore the music and scenery of Appalachia with eye-catching visuals. FREE 10:30am

November 22 - December 28: Stamford

2025 Holiday Wish Express, Stamford Town Center, 100 Greyrock Place, Stamford. All aboard for holiday magic! The Holiday Wish Express is rolling back into Connecticut this season for the fourth year, transforming 22,000 square feet at the Stamford Town Center into New England’s most spectacular indoor holiday attraction and interactive experience. $39.50 for each adult / $31.50 for children ages 3 to 10, plus ticketing fees; children ages two and under are free. Groups of 10 or more will receive a 15 percent discount at checkout. All children must be accompanied by at least one adult age 18 or over to enter

November 28 - December 24: Greenwich

17th Annual Greenwich Reindeer Festival & Santa’s Workshop, Sam Bridge Nursery & Greenhouses. 437 North Street, Greenwich. The cherished town tradition continues for the seventeenth consecutive year at this expansive nursery where visitors can have their photo taken with Santa, meet the reindeer and also enjoy Santa’s Workshop sponsored by Greenwich Pediatric Dental Group, which provides more space for families. Guests can enjoy the “Reindeer Coloring Station” sponsored by Jenny Allen & Kristen Studwell at Compass and “Letter Writing to Santa Station” sponsored by Greenwich Pediatric Dental Group,” while waiting in line for their photo with Santa. 9am-6pm.
