Egypt’s tourism revenues rose during the first half of 2010 by 17.6 percent compared to the same period of last year to reach $5.58 billion as of June 2010. Egypt ministers hope that the total tourism revenues reach $13 billion by the end of 2010,” as tourism represents 11 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).

Project ORIENTAL COAST RESORT Oriental Coast Location The location of the Oriental Coast Resort has been specifically chosen to ensure it is situated in the most scenic part of the coast, with a picturesque bay and wonderful reefs and marine life. The developers used helicopters to investigate hundreds of kilometres of coast around Marsa Alam to be able to pick the best location, taking experienced divers with them to advise on the best locations. Oriental Coast is positioned a 1hr 45 mins drive south of Hurghada and a 50 minute drive north of Marsa Alam town. The Oriental Coast will be a town in its own right when completed although the development is well located with a 20 minute drive south of the nearest town of Al Quasir.
