Extended Care Reminder for Kindergarteners Extended care for kindergarten ends on the last day of kindergarten, Wednesday, June 5. FAMILY LESSON #2 Based on 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 "THE POWER OF IDEAS"
There is something I have noticed when a criminal, a terrorist, or a deranged person uses guns, explosives or any form of physical power against innocent people to try and make a point. What I've
noticed is that their "point" never really gets made. Instead, it tends to be lost in all of the violence. As onlookers we find ourselves filled with shock and disbelief at the madness, and we distance ourselves from the actions of the violent offender and all that they stand for... Isn't that exciting? As tradition holds, our 8th grade students and families have fundraised and donated money to give back to ICS with a class gift. The students have voted... they will be donating their funds towards the swing phase of the playground. We are thankful the 8th graders have decided to bless all future students with their gift towards improving our playground. At this time, we are only $6800 away from complete installation of the swings. If you would like to help us reach our need of $6800, please email Mr. Pinkley. Sports Day - June 6 Sports Day is coming! This is one of the students favorite days of the school year.
Helpers Needed: It takes many volunteers to pull together this day of fun, camaraderie, and fitness for our students. We need your help to make this day special. To volunteer, please click here. Grades 1 & 2 will enjoy Outrageous Olympics coordinated by Cindy Wade, while grades 3-8
will continue the usual Sports Day activities with Lisa Fisher. Students and teachers will wear their Serve-A-Thon t-shirts from the Fall. Hot dog lunch will be served. Faculty/8th grade volleyball game will be in the gym 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.

Come hear what our orchestra and general music students have been learning this year. Piano Competition Recognition Congratulations to ten students awarded a Gold Cup Trophy by the National Music Club Federation. Gold Cup status is achieved only by students who participate for THREE consecutive years and attain three Superior ratings, the highest possible performance level. Students are required to play two pieces from memory and be judged by two independent professional musicians. Each year the pieces required become more challenging, so these students have learned what it means to give 100% to a long term goal. Current ICS student Gold Cup winners are Spencer Adams, David Pittman, Isabella Raneri and Hope Sheen. Former ICS student Gold Cup winners are Annalise Cornett, Grace Kim, Faith Kim, Alexander Long, Kendall Rogers and Morgan Rogers. Summer Piano Lessons Summer is an excellent time to introduce your student to piano lessons. The summer schedule is flexible. If you are interested in lessons, please contact Mrs. Kathleen McDonald or Mrs. Robyn Troncoso.
