Re-Enrollment for 2014-2015 Important re-enrollment information was sent home in midFebruary. The deadline to opt-out or withdraw was February 28, 2014. We assume all other students will be automatically re-enrolled. Your reenrollment deposit will be automatically collected through FACTS on March 21. If you have questions, please contact Diane Carnahan. New Tuition Rates for 2014-2015 The ICS School Board has approved the Tuition and Fees for 2014-2015. Click here to see the new Tuition and Financial Aid rates. Financial Aid Applications for tuition assistance are processed online by FACTS. All required documentation is due by April 16. There is a processing fee of $30 for this service. Families who are currently receiving aid should have received information in their re-enrollment package. Others may also apply at this time as well. Please remember that a new online application must be completed each year you request tuition assistance. Details are available on our website under Tuition and Financial Aid. Teacher and Staff Appreciation Next Week: March 10-14 ICS celebrates this week at a different time than Hallmark and other schools, who usually do it in late spring. The Parent Teacher Fellowship

Gift Basket Raffle: At the luncheon, the PTF will again offer the ever-popular gift basket raffle, a favorite tradition which the teachers look forward to each year. Theme baskets are put together by the creative efforts and generous donations of ICS parents and classes. Our honorees are given free raffle tickets to "bid" on a theme basket of their choice. Donations: We are currently accepting donations of all kinds to go into the themed gift baskets. Donations may be large or small, creative or simple, but many are needed -- and all are appreciated. Parents (or classes) may provide items and gift cards to go into the gift baskets or they may use their own creativity and talents to put together a complete theme basket. Certificates for services and gift certificates from your work or personal business are also very much appreciated. (And remember that any scrip gift cards purchased directly from ICS will benefit the school.) Sign Up to Help: Please take a look at the SignUpGenius we have set up and let us know how you might help. Completed theme baskets may be dropped off at Reception this week.

Please know that participation is completely optional and we appreciate any help you can provide with this effort. With your help, we can show our teachers our tremendous gratitude for their daily work in our children's lives and send them all home with something fun and memorable. Items and completed theme baskets may be left with the Receptionists marked "PTF Teacher/Staff Appreciation Basket Raffle". STEM @ ICS - Exhibition and Fundraiser March 20 You're invited to attend our STEM Exhibition & Fundraiser on Thursday, March 20, 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. in the Atrium. See how ICS integrates a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education and prepares our students for the future. At the event you will interact with exhibits featuring a weather TV studio, explore the stars through a telescope, play music through a banana, and take a spin at our 3D art exhibit all while enjoying a light breakfast. A program will follow featuring brief remarks, an inspiring video and will close with an opportunity to support ICS. For

Help Needed for STEM Exhibition Several parent volunteers are needed on Thursday, March 20 to assist with serving coffee and assisting with name tags from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. and with clean up from 2:30-3:15 p.m. Interested individuals should contact Jenny Britton . Visiting Day @ ICS Do you know a family who is considering a change to a private Christian school? Perhaps they have considered Immanuel but feel they need more information? We are offering a great opportunity to show what ICS is all about - Visiting Day @ ICS! On Friday, April 11, from 8:00 am to 11:30 am, families with students in grades 3 through 7 will have the opportunity to "try ICS on for size" by joining a class for a regularly scheduled Friday morning! News and Notes Opening for Middle School Office Assistant for 2014-2015 Immanuel has an opening beginning August 2014 for a Middle School Office Assistant. This position is fulltime during the school year (with limited and flexible hours in the summer) with paid vacation and benefits. The Middle School Office Assistant would be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support for the Middle School teachers and students, assisting with student records, processing recommendations and transcripts, and general office work. Skill required in Microsoft Word. Additional experience with Excel and other MS products is a plus. Contact Susan Huber in the school office if you are interested. Position closes for applications on March 21. Parents in Prayer: Little ones welcome! If you have been unable to come to Parents in Prayer, Tuesday mornings from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m., because of young siblings, don't let that stop you. Several parents bring their children who occupy themselves quietly with a coloring book and a snack while parents pray. Feel free to give that a try. We want to involve as many parents as possible. It also sets a great example to the little ones to witness adults praying! You will be blessed for sure!


ICS Spring Book Fair April 8 - 11 Come to our "Book Fair Fiesta" and get great books for readers of all ages! Fair hours are Tuesday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with extended hours on Wednesday until 6:30 p.m. in the school library. You will be able to shop online come April 1 - 21. We will include the link soon. It's easy, fun and supports the ICS Library. Contact the library staff for more details. Immanuel's Got Talent! It's time again for the 3rd Annual ICS Talent Show...Immanuel's Got Talent! We are excited to see what new talent this year brings! We are looking for a variety of acts from 4th through 8th grade students to be showcased during an all-school assembly on Friday, May 2 (1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.). Acts may be individual or group, and should be no longer than 4 minutes in length. Students must sign up in their homeroom and return the signed permission form by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7 in order to audition. All acts may not be chosen, due to time restrictions. Auditions will be held during lunch/recess on Thursday, March 13th and Tuesday, March 18th. If you have any questions, please contact Lauren Umble.

Order Form for School Supplies Sent Home Yesterday, March 5 SchoolKidz, a program through Staples, offers the opportunity for students to "preorder" their school supplies for next year. Order forms were sent home with your child. Each child in grades Kindergarten through 7th grade received the appropriate form to order their school supplies for next year. This is an optional program we are offering to our families. Below are some reasons why you should consider ordering from SchoolKidz: Each order is customized to the supplies needed by the specific grade level. Your SchoolKidz supplies are delivered at the end of the school year in a handy storage box you can keep and use throughout the year! It is convenient. The box will contain most of the supplies you need for next year (you will only need to purchase a few additional items to complete your required school supplies) It helps ICS. The school receives a small amount on each kit sold.

You may complete the paper order form, attach your check, and return it to the school office by March 20.

OR 1.

You may order online at the SchoolKidz website by clicking here and entering our account number, 94000. You can also use the link on the ICS Homepage to access the online order form. Online orders must be paid by credit card. You may order online until March 28. Available online only are backpacks, water bottles, lunchboxes and more!

Please note: Paper order forms are due March 20. A check must accompany your order! Orders will be delivered during the week of May 27 and sent home with your child. Look for the display in the


hallway by the school office that shows a sample kit. Questions? Contact Angie Lam or the school office. Yearbook Photos Needed ASAP We are in need of photos for the yearbook. We need boys' softball 2013, girls' lacrosse 2013, and Talent Show 2013. Please email Christi Colyer , Yearbook Coordinator, with your photos by March 9. Do You Have an Old Canon Rebel Film Camera? The ICS Middle School Photography Class needs Canon Rebel film cameras and lenses. If you have an old Canon Rebel you no longer use, we can put it to good use. Sorry, we can't use other camera models. We want all the students using the same camera. Donations can be dropped off at Reception or the School Office. Thank you. Meetings for Rising 9th Graders Orientation and curriculum nights are taking place in the public high schools. These are important meetings for upcoming freshmen and parents to attend. Please call your local high school to get the date for your high school's orientation for rising freshmen or the general curriculum orientation.

In the 2nd quarter, 3,891 Box Tops were submitted which totaled $381.90. So far this school year, you have raised $1169.80 for the school. 



The top three Box Top submissions for the second quarter are Ana/Lauren Boyer (6A/2B): 232 Box Tops, Erik Cobb (KB): 166 Box Tops, and Matthew Pannell (5A): 178 Box Tops. Congratulations and prizes to be announced!!! A huge thanks to Diana Dorsey (Emily Dorsey's mom) for helping with the count this quarter! Please keep the Box Tops coming for third quarter prizes! Please bring your Box Tops in a Ziploc bag labeled with your child(s) name and grade to the front office. Please make sure you check the expiration dates on the Box Tops because cannot be counted in the totals. Please do not forget to sign up and support ICS here. Once you register, you will have access to coupons for box top products and have the opportunity to play fun games and earn eBox Tops for our school.

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) Meeting Next Week All mothers of preschoolers are welcome to attend the March 10th meeting from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in Room A207/209. Jody Lubenec will be speaking on "Rest Stops: Refreshment on the Lifelong Journey of Motherhood." We'd love to have you join us.


EMOMS March Meeting The next meeting for mothers of elementary aged children will be Wednesday, March 19 from 7:00 9:00 p.m. in Room A207/209. The topic will be "Training Up A Child" with Deshua & Tom Joyce. Tom is pastor of Discipleship & Family at IBC, and his wife is a retired teacher who also taught children with learning disabilities at Immanuel Christian School. Join us! Women's Spring Retreat: March 28 & 29 The Women's Retreat will be held March 28 & 29 at Immanuel Bible Church, with featured speaker Kelly Minter. Hot Lunch Help Needed Servers Needed: We are in need of a few people to serve Hot Lunch each week. It is a once-a-month commitment on Wednesdays between 11:15 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. This is a great way to satisfy your Parent Service Hours. It is always a blessing to serve side by side as a team interacting with the students and other ICS parents. We'll even treat you to lunch!
