ortimer West End Cricket Club (MWECC) is a thriving family oriented village club based at the Mortimer West End Recreation Ground on Church Road. The club’s aim is to provide an environment where players of all ages can enjoy the game of cricket and achieve their cricketing aims, whether that be through competitive or friendly cricket.

Indoor pre-season nets are currently taking place on Sunday mornings at Theale Green School from 11am, each week until April 12th, after which practice will move outdoors on a Tuesday evening at the club on Church Road, from 6pm.

The club nurtures budding cricketers through its Junior Section which has ECB Clubmark Accreditation and offers programmes ranging from Under 9 through Under 15 age groups. The club has ECB qualified coaching staff who oversee the player development and manage the junior sides fixtures.

Families and supporters are very welcome at the ground, especially enthusiastic ones who are keen to come along and enjoy summer afternoons watching cricket or enjoying the family friendly facilities, wellfurbished clubhouse and well-stocked bar!

The club fields teams in two competitive Saturday Leagues, the 1st XI in the Premier Division of the Berkshire League and the 2nd XI in Division 2 of the Berkshire Cricket League. The club has enjoyed terrific recent success with the 1st XI competing in the Premier Division, winning the title in 2008, 2010 and 2012. Mortimer West End Cricket Club are keen to build upon this and maintain MWECC as a centre of excellence for cricket in our area.
