DREAM 同 TOGETHER 想

Can you imagine one has no dreams? By collaborating with different schools and NGOs, we at IMCA are able to DREAM together with young people in many walks of life through our art workshops. Thank you partners so much for the trust and it is our pleasure to DREAM with all of you. Let’s keep it up and may all our dreams come true one day.

Chau Lok, Ruby Project Officer Growing Partners II – Child development Fund (Shatin) It was our pleasure for BGCA to collaborate with IM Creative in using art in serving our children, youths and their families last year with three workshops and one community work. IM Creative has provided our children with professional art training in cultivating their creativity and developing their talents in art. It helped our children and youths to build self-confidence and problem-solving skills during the creative process. They also learnt to put their dreams into action through consolidation in art creation. It is important that IM Creative has introduced us various ways of using art, and everyone could enjoy and have fun in art.

Ms Stephanie To Yue Man Hong Kong SKH Bishop Hall Secondary School

I am very grateful to the IM Creative team for bringing together two positive education workshops, “Exploring • Thinking • Creating Me” and “Dream Sparkles” to our Form 1 students. In the workshops, students not only experienced the fun of artistic creation, but also came to understand that as long as they are willing to try, everyone can create. They learnt from the process to appreciate themselves and others. Through the artistic activities, designed with heart, positive values were also nurtured. For example, designing robots for Children’s Hospital helped built student’s empathy; ‘Dream Lamp’ production boosted student’s self-confidence and hope, and enlightened them the possibility that they can really bring changes to the community and the future.

CREATE 同 TOGETHER 創

“IM Creative, and so are YOU!” We believe everybody is creative. The key is how to unleash it. This year, our students met some creative farmers in Xian who turned millets into candies, and a group of innovative young architects who up-cycled paper egg cartons into raw materials and rebuilt them into different useful forms. These great creative ideas bring positive changes in these young people. Thank you Art Squad for supporting the Millet Candy packaging!

Mabel Wong Fundraising Manager - Appeals Oxfam Hong Kong

With the help of some IM Creative students designing the paper wrapping, Oxfam Shop’s special Chinese New Year product, millet candy, got a new look. This candy has not only encouraged farmers in Shaanxi to cultivate millet in an eco-friendly way and improved their livelihoods, but also helped consumers to learn about the traditional candy-making craft. We’d like to thank every little designer! It has been a great experience working with IM Creative which is highly committed . to advocate creative development in all children and teens, including those from underprivileged families. Empowerment is one of Oxfam’s core values, and we highly appreciate IM Creative’s effort to inspire and empower children to develop their visual literacy. We are glad to know from the little designers that, the co-operation facilitated them to learn more about rural poverty in China, build empathy, and know that they can make a change with their talent. I strongly believe that a creative mindset is very important for the younger generation to become agents of change in our society.

Cho Lok Man Founder Dozen Design Studio We are very happy to work with CreativeKids throughout the Eggmax Tree exhibition. As a team of university students, we always aspire to activate the community with innovative design as well as environmental awareness. Thanks to the full support from CreativeKids, we shared our observation and knowledge in recycled egg containers with the students during the creation. We are very amazed by the creativity of students transforming the egg modules to a diversity of forms, color and characters, which inspired by different characteristics of egg containers. Also, it was a pleasure to meet everyone in the meaningful event so that we further exchanged our ideas and showed our achievement with students from CreativeKids, Shum Shui Po residents as well as the public. Undoubtedly, we spent a different but fruitful Christmas with the local community!

TOGETHER 行 This is already the 3rd year of our “IM Creative Sponsorship Program”(人人可能 助畫工程), how time flies! The first batch of fullyfunded passionate students will complete their 3-years creative art program in June 2019. So blessed are we that there are not only positive changes in their lives, but also with their families. Thank you so much every donor! You are the one who brings dreams to our students.

Choi Ching Yung Bill Lam’s mother IM Creative Sponsorship student 2018 Thank you IMCA so much for this opportunity. I used to think Bill only likes to draw, and at home he only doodles indefinitely. When his school social worker recommended Bill to participate in this “IM Creative Sponsorship Program”, I was only hoping to get Bill a place to learn painting in the beginning. But it turned out we got far more than that. His tutor is very attentive and patient. Apart from teaching Bill drawing skills, she also takes care of his emotions and other aspects of development. She encourages him a lot. I now notice that Bill’s smile is really from the heart, which is quite different from before. He smiles more and becomes more confident, more cheerful. He likes painting so much that he looks forward to attending every single IM Creative class. When Bill’s mood improves, I am more relaxed than before, and we both laugh more. I am really grateful to every instructor and staff here in IMCA. I know it will be a long-term process for Bill to really get emotionally sorted out. However, it is already very fortunate for us to have met supporters on the road.

Nicky Yu Kit Ying IM Creative Sponsorship student 2016 I am Nicky, currently a Form 1 student. I enrolled in IMCA when I was at my fourth grade. During these three years I have gained a great deal. As to painting I learnt to master different techniques and acquired knowledge of a variety of pigments. On the interpersonal aspect I was able to switch and learn from different tutors from time to time, and acquainted new classmates every year. Here, learning is easy because there is no rigid boundary, and every class is funful and interesting.

.

I attend class in Meifoo every Saturday. One interesting thing about the painting lesson is that I am able to employ many techniques learnt here to use again at my visual art sessions at school. Sometimes I found the content taught in school are those I have already studied in the painting class. IM Creative is a great place to study art. Sometimes it is not the painting skills, but the feelings towards things that truly turning them into art. Through it all my creativity is inspired. Thank you IM Creative for giving me the opportunity to learn!
