summer 2011 programs Classic Rocker (ages 8 and up)

Junior Rocker (ages 3-7)

Students will work with professional musicians, choreographers and their “big buddies” to perform in and produce Kid Rock:V3, a full-length rock concert. While jammin’ out with their friends, your little rock stars will be learning all the lyrics, dance steps, microphone technique and stage presence necessary to wow an audience. Our Jr. Rockers will rehearse Tuesday nights at the Berlin YMCA along side members of the infamous Imagine Band and our Classic Rocker friends. Our rock show will take place in the Gymnasium at the New Britain YMCA with professional music, lighting and sound.

Students will have the opportunity to perform their favorite favorite rock tunes while they learn what it takes to be the front-man (or woman) for a professional rock band. They will be calling all the musical shots as they lead, sing, and arrange their own tunes with the assistance of the rocktastic Imagine Band. Each of our Classic Rockers will take on a “Little Buddy” and mentor them through the process. Our Classic Rockers will rehearse Tuesday nights at the Berlin YMCA with our Jr. Rocker friends. Our rock show will take place in the Gymnasium at the New Britain YMCA with professional music, lighting and sound.
