During the March quarter house values across Australia increased 0.2 per cent – a modest but important increase after the fall in value we witnessed in 2011. This is an encouraging sign which suggests that the lower end of the cycle has been reached and the market is beginning to move upwards. This is especially true in popular inner-city areas such as Albert Park where demand remains strong. In these areas in particular, renewed buyer interest together with the stabilisation of values means prices are likely to edge higher in the next quarter.
