Hospice care is a specialized form of medical care designed to meet the needs of patients whose goals of care are shifting from curative to comfort care and quality, end-of-life care. The goal of hospice care is to provide the terminally ill patient and their family—as early as possible— with the support and resources needed to help the patient manage pain and other symptoms so that their last days may be spent with dignity, surrounded by their loved ones.

Who is Eligible for Hospice Care?

A patient is eligible for hospice care when it is determined that pursuing other treatment will not benefit the patient, and quality of life becomes the focus.
