Come and Enjoy Life in Sheffield Village The Village is a great place to live and work with tremendous recreational opportunities, an excellent school system and our resident business services are second to none. Central to the atmosphere of Sheffield Village is the extensive parkland with more than 750 acres managed by the Village and the Lorain County Metro Parks. The French Creek Nature & Arts Center offers superb music and theatre programs for all ages as well as bird and wildlife observation areas. This facility is a true “gem” for the nature and arts lover. RECREATION

We continuously work on expanding our many short and long walking trails around the Village. We can now say someone can ride a bike or walk beginning at the Lake Erie shore through Sheffield Lake, Sheffield Village and into Elyria on a completed trail. With so many options available, our residents never have to leave the Village if they don’t want to. The idea is to make sure people can move around safely when walking and bicycling.

Recently the Veterans Administration (VA) Community-Based Outpatient Clinic relocated to Sheffield Village for a more central access for our Lorain County veterans. We continue to improve our economic development by offering a favorable business climate to attract a variety of commercial, retail and office developments. We have two business parks with room for expansion. With a surplus of undeveloped land, Sheffield Village has plenty of room to grow. Development will be done in such a way to welcome new businesses, yet keep industrial and commercial areas from infringing on the Village’s quiet and residential environment. While we still have room for continued residential expansion, rest assured it will be kept in mind to keep the Village a village as well as a great place to live. Sheffield Village offers many advantages to businesses and residents due to our proximity to I-90, the Ohio Turnpike and three major state routes 254, 301 and 611. We’re close to Avon Commons, Crocker Park, Cobblestone and the Crossings, Elyria Mall, Maria Plaza, and just about any type of restaurant you can name all within minutes of a highway. Whether it’s Cleveland or Sandusky – both are very convenient.

Unlike neighboring cities, we don’t have any real estate taxes for operating the Village. The Village operates entirely on income taxes.
