At the Rocky River City School District, Parents are Vital The Rocky River City School District provides 2,700 students in grades K-12 with the benefits of a small-school setting and all the resources of a larger school district. The District was again ranked in the prestigious Top Ten List of Cleveland Area Schools in the June 2016 issue of Cleveland Magazine. Long known for its tradition of academic quality, the Rocky River City School District strives to meet its mission: Globally Competitive, Exceptional Opportunities, Caring Environment and Successful Students. Last year over 92 percent of high school graduates continued on to colleges or universities across the country. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation recognized 16 seniors this year; 8 National Merit Semifinalists and 8 National Merit Commended Students. Parent organizations are a vital part of the Rocky River City School District. The Rocky River Parent Teacher Associations, Rocky River Student Activities Boosters, Rocky River Education Foundation, Rocky River Campus Foundation, The Marooners and Rocky River Band Backers are comprised of volunteers whose efforts continue to enrich the educational lives of the students in the District. Rocky River PTA Council holds an annual fundraising dinner during homecoming and supports the work of the individual PTA units. Each building has a PTA whose mission is to serve as a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child. The Rocky River Student Activities Boosters is a tax-exempt organization whose mission is to provide support to co-curricular activities at Rocky River Middle School and High School, including academic and peer organizations, sports, music, and theater. The Rocky River Education Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c) (3) corporation directed by a Board of Trustees organized for the purpose of soliciting contributions to fund teacher grants in the school district. The Rocky River Campus Foundation, Inc. is a group of parents who raise funds and develop sponsorships to enhance the landscaping and outside areas at Rocky River High School.

The Marooners is a non-profit foundation created by parents to promote amateur tackle football in Rocky River. Formed in 2015, Rocky River Band Backers is a non-profit, 501(c) (3) corporation whose mission is to raise funds to support the instrumental music program of the District at all levels (currently 5th - 12th grade).
