Lorain County Auditor’s Report from January 2015 shows that our cost to taxpayers ranks in the lowest third of Lorain County districts, while we continue rank as one of the top performing districts in the county. As always, thank you for your support for Amherst Schools. We owe our strength to our community.

Board Approves Tuition-Free, All-Day, Every Day Kindergarten for 2015-2016 The school board voted in January to implement tuitionfree, all-day, every day kindergarten for Amherst Schools starting next school year. The additional instruction time will help further young Comets’ reading skills, social skills, and confidence, and allow for more enrichment activities currently not possible in half-day kindergarten. We will provide this opportunity for all families while preserving financial stability through 2018-2019. Please call Powers Elementary at 440-988-8670 to enroll your child!

Tablets are being used in the classroom to facilitate individual learning skills.
