Orchestration - alto flute, bass clarinet, bassoon, violin, viola, cello, piano & 7 service bells. Note about service bells - in English AKA call bell, reception bell or desk(top) bell; DE: rezeptionsklingel oder schreibtischglocke; ES: campanita de mesa o timbre hotel; FR: sonnette de comptoir; IT: campanello da tavolo. There is no preferred make or pitch for bells so long as the following specifics are adhered to: 1) Long ring (i.e. long decay time and hence, wider array of audible partials) 2) Apart from bells 1&2 (specified in score, and should be pitched identically), differently pitched bells at performers' own discretion. 3) When allocating bells to specific players/parts, avoid high to low & low to high pitch sequences. 4) Inconspicuous set-up on stage so as not to give away the surprise.

Seating Arrangement - in semi-circle from stage R to L, and with slight gap between sections: cello, violin, viola - clarinet, flute, bassoon. Piano: trad. (chamber open, or closed). Duration - ca. 11 min.
