ILUZTRA is a new, 100% Portuguese project, born of the desire to create a new product, different and creative that promotes Portugal trough design. In its concept carries the will to lighten the memories of those who visit us and of those who love our culture and country. ILUZTRA results of the desire to show the world the best that exists in Portugal: emotion, creativity and soul!

PROCISSÃO by Ricardo Santo The illustrator Ricardo Santo, author of the “Procissão”, lightens up the best in Portugal by portraying it as a land of deeply rooted traditions allied to its most modern aspects. Popular festivities, processions, popular music and food are what Portuguese people consider to be the most traditional and festive get-togethers.

UMA CASA PORTUGUESA COM CERTEZA! by Sara Paz “Uma casa Portuguesa concerteza” was the responsibility of the illustrator Sara Paz, who sees in portuguese architecture, cobblestone, typical caffes, picturesque houses and lifestyle, the best way to pass on a city’s and a country’s image. It tells us the story of portuguese people everyday life, some of their soul, the nostalgia and the eternal longing “saudade”.

RETRATOS DE FAMÍLIA by oraviva! “Retratos de Família” is the illustration of the design studio oraviva! from Porto that tells us the story of the key characters from our culture, through caricatures of the major national symbols, such as the greatest poet and character in Portuguese literature, Luís Vaz de Camões. Is there a better way of portraying our culture?

DE BARCELOS COM AMOR by Sílvia Rodrigues Are we able to think of Portugal without reminding of our legendary rooster for a moment? “De Barcelos com amor” was the theme chosen by the illustrator Sílvia Rodrigues to tell us one of the many stories from Portugal: the story in which symbols and legends are a part of our culture and heritage. Representing Portugal through this touristic image is the best representation of our people’s honesty and simplicity.

AZUL+DESEJO=AZULEJO by Rod Bispo “Azul+Desejo=Azulejo” is the inspiration of the illustrator Rodolfo Bispo, who revisited one of the most important arts that Portugal has to show to the world: the typical tiles “azulejos”. The Portuguese work the tiles in a very original way, transforming a merely utilitarian piece into an art expression. It’s a trace of the national genius that could not be left out in this first collection.

ELÉCTRICO DO AMOR by Ricardo Santo This illustration from Ricardo Santo highlights one of the most known and ancient means of transportation of Portugal’s capital: the electric tram. An up and down the hills of the city, where you can find the typical “alfacinhas” (Lisbon inhabitants). Touring on the tram is the most romantic and original way of knowing Lisbon.

MANJERICOS E SARDINHAS by Sara Paz One can not speak about Lisbon without mentioning its popular festivals! Stº António and his “brides”, the folklore marching down the avenue and the typical sardines appreciated by all, shown here in perfect harmony by the ilustrator Sara Paz!

JANELAS DE LUZ by oraviva! Lisbon is an amalgamation of hills populated by rich and diverse architectural expressions. The studio oraviva! tried to give life and light to this heritage, bringing us a very unique insight over some of the most emblematic buildings of the Portuguese capital.

NO CORAÇÃO DE ALFAMA by Sílvia Rodrigues It is not possible to really know Lisbon and not visit one of its most charismatic districts! The illustrator Silvia Rodrigues sought to capture the essence of living in a small “village” in the big city, where neighbors are friends, the street belongs to everyone and fado is the common language in every alley!

PORTO À VISTA by Sara Paz The illustrator Sara Paz presents us one of the most charismatic landscapes of Oporto city: the stream. A quiet evening contemplating the boats that roam the Douro, with a glass of port wine in your hand, that’s the North of Portugal.
