Canada: 17 lessons from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm San Francisco: 20 lessons from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm Australia: 15 hours (17 lessons) from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

You and your classmates take part in extracurricular activities such as attending movies, festivals, walking tours, amusement parks, museums and soccer matches or participating in sports, hiking in natural environments and more! All activities are guided by members of the ILSC team. Each afternoon will be a new adventure!

In an ILSC Homestay, you will have a unique cultural experience.

For 1 to 7 weeks, you participate in morning Communication classes. These focus on speaking, listening and grammar. Learn and practice new vocabulary, idioms, phrases and dialogues within a customized program that meets the needs of a specific age group.

In a Homestay, you will be surprised at how quickly your speaking improves when immersed in English or French throughout morning, noon and night. Our welcoming Homestay families are carefully selected and monitored by ILSC staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. SUMMER PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS Vancouver has been continuously chosen as the world’s most livable city! No other place in the world can compete with its setting on the Pacific Ocean, its sandy beaches, lush forests, multiple parks and towering snow-capped mountains. Safe and peaceful, Vancouver and Whistler were also host to the 2010 Winter Olympics!

HIGHLIGHTS

In the heart of Stanley Park, you’ll see everything from Beluga Whales to Green Anacondas at the Vancouver Aquarium. Then continue exploring the world of water by kayaking along the shoreline in the clear Pacific Ocean. See how long it takes you to hike up Grouse Mountain and then enjoy incredible views from the top! An excursion into the nearby resort town of Whistler is also a treat with a ride on the world record setting Peak 2 Peak Gondola and a tour of charming Whistler Village.

WINTER ACTIVITY SAMPLE

There is no better way to enjoy BC’s silvery winter glow than in the heart of the temperate rainforest at Capilano Suspension Bridge where you’ll be guided through amazing heights, eco-nature trails and First Nations totem poles. Then get above the clouds and get a tan while learning to ski or snowboard at one of Vancouver’s nearby mountains. You’ll also notice a giant futuristic dome in downtown Vancouver – Science World makes learning cool with permanent interactive exhibits and displays.

SUMMER PROGRAM Montréal is the largest French-speaking city in the world outside of Paris. This metropolis offers culture around the clock in both English and French. Old world architecture and new world chic, stylish shopping districts and lush green parks are on almost every corner! You will be amazed by its urban charm.

HIGHLIGHTS Explore Mount Royal, the mountain in the heart of the city. An extinct volcano, the mountain offers forest hiking, large green spaces for sports and beautiful city views. You will also explore one of the oldest urban areas in North America dating back to the 1600's – Old Montréal has historic mansions, basilicas and horse-drawn carriages along the Old Port. And no summer is complete without a day at La Ronde – the second largest amusement park in Canada.

CUSTOMIZED WINTER YOUTH GROUP PROGRAMS TORONTO AND MONTRÉAL Customized winter group programs can be organized for youth interested in visiting Toronto or Montréal to learn English or French while exploring the Canadian landscape and culture through exciting afternoon activities. In Toronto students might enjoy activities such as skating at Nathan Philips Square, or skiing at Blue Mountain Resort. In Montréal students could explore Ile Ste-Hélène on snowshoes, or spend an exhilarating afternoon tubing at Mont-Royal. Toronto and Montréal both offer unique and exciting cultural experiences, as well as world class shopping and iconic sightseeing opportunities.* Please contact ILSC for details or to arrange a customized winter group program. *Activities subject to change.

Water on three sides, steep hills with incredible views and world-famous attractions make the modern city of San Francisco visually spectacular. And because of its rich cultural diversity, the sights, sounds and flavors of the city – even its climate – can change within a single block. From mountains in the morning to museums in the afternoon, you will never be far from nature or culture in this hip city with the fabulous heart.

HIGHLIGHTS Hop on board one of San Francisco’s famous trolleys and head down to Fisherman’s Wharf - a popular attraction, this neighbourhood features historic museums and restaurants serving fresh seafood. Then take in the awesome views on a walk across the legendary Golden Gate Bridge. As you gaze onto San Francisco Bay, you’ll catch sight of historic Alcatraz, best known as one of the world’s most legendary prisons but also home to rare flowers, plants and wildlife. You’ll be astounded by what you see and learn.

SUMMER & WINTER PROGRAM Brisbane, the third largest city in Australia, is a sleek, international city in the east, just north of the Gold Coast. You will fall in love with its year-round, warm subtropical climate and the beautiful Brisbane River that curves gently through the heart of the city. The friendly, downto-earth locals will help you feel safe at home among world-class art galleries, a booming live music scene and cool café culture.

HIGHLIGHTS Explore cosmopolitan sights and go on outdoor adventures. Visit Movie World, UnderWater World and Dreamworld theme parks. Take a quick ferry trip out of the city to Morton or Stradbroke Island to enjoy beaches, hikes, and snorkeling. Visit beautiful South bank and take a ride on the Ferris Wheel to get a great view of the city, or swim in the lagoon. Cuddle with a koala and connect with Australia's unique wildlife at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.
