LIVE YOUR CREATIVE BRILLIANCE

A conversation with Bruce Cryer                nown for his surprisingly varied career, Bruce Cryer always  seems to have                     several creative projects going on. At age 15 he sang in  the choir for Duke                     Ellington and by 19 was playing The Boy in the world’s longest running musical, The Fantasticks. He has performed in Shakespeare in the Park, television commercials and films, ran an art business, and was a founding member of ODC, San Francisco’s top dance company.

K ETTEZAG HTLLEW

He left New York to join the vibrant California business community and later became a founding director of the breakthrough HeartMath organizations and CEO for 11 years. He has been adjunct faculty at Stanford University for more than twenty years and has mentored and taught leaders at The World Bank, Unilever, Liz Claiborne, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, and the Mayo Clinic. After fully recovering from a two-year health crisis, he began to sing and dance again and in 2018 he released his first album of original songs, entitled Renaissance Human, as well as his acclaimed digital photography. Experienced in both the business and performing arts worlds led him to develop a body of work on Awakening Creativity and Innovation which is now being taught at universities and conference centers around the US. Q: Help us understand the term Renaissance Human? The word renaissance means rebirth. It is my firm belief that since every human being is designed genetically to create life, therefore we are all creative beings. Throughout our lives we give birth to new parts of ourselves. This is the magnificent, exciting opportunity of being human. We are all renaissance humans.

If our heart is not in our work, if we don’t feel appreciated by our co-workers and “superiors”, if we ignore the cares and genuine concerns of customers, business and career failure are virtually assured. PEOPLE Q: Can you share your journey to birthing the Renaissance Human movement? I never really considered myself a creative person until I became a  singer/dancer/actor in my late teens, and even then I thought the real creatives were the visual artists, not the performers. Many years later, after surviving and fully recovering from two life-threatening conditions, I realized I desperately needed to express myself creatively again. A number of people referred to me as a renaissance man because of my skills in both business and the arts. This journey would become my primary focus since I know there are millions of people around the world with the same hunger I had. But the term needed an upgrade badly. “Renaissance Human” is inclusive, forward-thinking, optimistic. Q: How does one become more creative, and even become an innovator? First of all must arise the profound belief that we are all creative and capable of innovation, not just the artists or inventors. There are 5 Catalysts I identified in my journey back to full creativity, which form the core of my work: ETTEZAG HTLLEW

Mindfulness We need to be mindful of both the fears that block creative flow as well as the signals all around us that can activate it. Movement   We’re all too sedentary. Creativity is about energetic flow. Get up and move when you feel blocked! Sometimes it’s that simple. Nature   Nature is the muse of many an artist. Why not us? Even if we live in a concrete jungle, there are trees and lakes and even oceans not far away. Soak them in. Playfulness   Playfulness comes naturally to kids. The energy of playfulness can take the heaviness out of situations that can feel like lead weights around our ankles when our imagination wants to soar. Artistic Expression   Trying new forms of Artistic Expression gets our brain building new circuitry that will come in handy when any creative need arises.

Q: Any daily routines/ rituals for wellbeing? Heart meditation, vigorous exercise, gratitude journaling, walking outside, hanging out with diverse people much younger than me. Q: What are the tools you recommend to enhance resilience and boost performance?  - HeartMath is a powerful, robust and practical system of tools and feedback    technology. Useful for all ages, backgrounds, personal belief systems.    (stress, resilience, performance, well-being) - The work of Dr Sue Morter (bioenergetic medicine) - Bulletproof coffee (cognitive function) - NAD and Curcuminoid supplements (anti-aging and anti-inflammation)

Q: Why does the heart matter in business? Quantum mechanics, positive psychology and our own common sense would say that human beings need to use 100% of our capacity to lead deeply meaningful, fulfilling, and successful lives. That includes the power of our feelings, the power of our heart. If our heart is not in our work, if our heart is not in our work ,if we don’t feel appreciated by our co-workers and “superiors”, if we ignore the cares and genuine concerns of customers, business and career failure are virtually assured. The heart matters more than any other single factor in business.                                                                                                                                        –Bruce Cryer

A SOURCE OF LIGHT JULIA DUBOVYK

“I focus to capture the unexpected, hidden qualities behind the Chandelier that most of us take for granted. Rich, deep colors within simple compositions deliberately enhance the essence of this symbolic light source throughout my works. In doing so, I invite the viewer to reconsider this object and relate to it in a different way.

EETTEZAG HTLLEW

The Chandelier is the main subject of this series as light is the most powerful thing in Nature. The crystals with its ability to reflect and refract light create a magical atmosphere. In addition, everything in its proximity becomes bright, enjoyable, and festive. I am drawn to this unique light and to the idea that we can control it ourselves. Internally we all possess a source of light and as with Chandeliers we can turn it on or off.”

LET'S TALK

EETTEZAG HTLLEW

Though peoples work and personal lives are frequently changing - the fact is we are  not hard wired to change. When change happens, we change and  when we change, our experience will change as well. You get choose if you want to be at the impact of change or at the source of your change. HOW WE PROCESS CHANGE When circumstances change, we feel before we think. Then we search for evidence to give meaning to our emotional reaction. The meaning fuels our feeling which in turn defines our experience. THE KEY TO CHANGE The key lies in becoming self-aware of how our feelings fuel our thinking and impact the quality of our lives. Critical to being comfortable in changing circumstances and to be the person who creates their own change is a process of self-awareness through discovery, insight and resolution. BE THE CHANGE My approach is to help people understand what they want, why they want it, and support them to close the gap from where they are to where they want to be.

Let’s focus on the morning regimen. The routine is priceless!

EETTEZAG HTLLEW

1. Start off with the DAY & NIGHT RADIANCE SERUM FOR DRY AND SENSITIVE SKIN. You can’t go wrong with it because it is delicate enough to never irritate, yet strong enough to bring out the radiant results you’ve been craving all winter! 2. Amplify your eyes with a dash of the deep black yet natural in feel, smudge-proof, creamy TRANSONIC HYPOALLERGENIC MASCARA. It intensifies and thickens eyelashes without clumping and without the itch. It feels light and supple as it builds density, conditions the lashes, and is comfortable and safe for even the most sensitive eyes. 3.   Pout your lips with a big smile as you dash on the NEXT GENERATION NATURALLY TRANSPARENT LIPSTICK. This transparent lipstick (available in 3 shades) reacts with the pH of saliva  activating a delicate natural hue which nourished your lips and stays on for hours. It leaves a slight sheen and a natural, even, full color. 4. VIPERA'S MINERAL DREAM CREAM BRIGHTENING EYE SHADOW treats you to a splash of sparkle.  Every day deserves that. Add shimmer to the eye area with the prismatic fizz effect of the microscopic crystals that are built into the gel. This shadow has a very elegant ‘vintage gold' tone which finishes your look with a magic touch.
