UCT’s U20 Trojans salvaged some pride for the blue and white rugby club beating their Maties coun-
terparts 21:17 in a nailbiting contest. The Trojans scored two tries through livewire scrumhalf Ryan
Dugmore, and another five pointer through fullback and captain Jason Germishuys. This fantastic
victory gives the young Ikeys not only the Hedley Atkins trophy, but also a shot at league honours.

IKEY TIGER GIRLS SHOOT THE IKEYS CHEERLEADERS recently did a photo session on the green mile and other uct spots THAT MADE FOR GREAT LOCATIONS During the Varsity Cup, a couple of UCT girls set out to build a cheerleading team. Fully driven by students who developed their style, dance moves and
flamboyance and organised endless hours of rehearsing as well as the se-
lection process and routines. A great student initiative that all on the Green Mile have loved from the start and it is great to see it come to the point it is
today with a lot of passion and a bit of logistical support from the Ikeys Vibe UCT Rugby Social for sound, outfits and matchday setup.
Andrew aka guywithcamera.co.za was tasked with the photo assignment and said: “It was a challenging line to walk creatively because UCT has
such a beautiful ivy league type architecture and huge cultural heritage. I wanted to be faithful to this while also creating something fun that would appeal to students.”
He added, “I felt we could use a twist on the traditional cheerleader kitsch,
play on themes of student culture and also blend in rugby themes in a new way. Proud, sexy, fun and of course slightly tongue in cheek.”
The guys from FILMSOC also did a brilliant behind the scenes video - find it on ikeysvibe.co.za
