Labor Day Classic at Hershey CC The IJGT was more than excited to be headed back to the Northeast for the first event of the season in this region. Hershey Country Club is continuously in good shape and proves a challenge to all competitors. The event was highlighted by Carey Bina’s will to win here at Hershey. In the 2011-2012 Bina had finished second twice at Hershey losing by a very close margin each time. Carey made sure he was not left behind this time by finishing the event with a final-round 68 to finish 3-under-par for the event. Hilton Head National This was the first venue for the Discovery Tour of the 2012-2013 season. Jonathan Griz and Sophie Guo walked away with first place titles at this event. In the Girls Division, Rei Nakatani, of Tokyo, Japan, got her first ever hole-in-one. In the Boys 15-19 Division, the title of Champion came down to the last hole, No. 18, with Aaron Terrazas walking away with the victory. IJGT Junior at Wintonbury Hills Wintonbury Hills was the lone Connecticut stop on tour this season and it sure was nothing short of spectacular. The rolling hills just outside of Hartford, Conn., proved to be a sure test for some outstanding golf. Ryan Rybicki secured his first of three victories of the 2012-2013 season here. Blue Heron Pines The IJGT returned again to Blue Heron Pines which always boosts a large field to compete on the very challenging golf course. Great weather conditions allowed for the course to play at its best. Spotted riding around the course was Blue Heron Pines owner and Philadelphia Eagles great, Ron Jaworski. SoCal Open at Legends Golf Club Legends Golf Club was a great kick-off venue for the IJGT West Coast tour. In the Boys 15-19 Division, there was a playoff between Joseph Ko of Chatsworth, Calif., and Matthew Kemps of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., with Ko walking away with the first place title. Florida Swing at Falcon’s Fire In the Boys 15-19 Division, there was a three-hole playoff between Manuel Velez of Panama City, Panama, and Daniel Tello Vargas of Pachuca, Mexico, with Velez walking away with the first-place title. Philly Jr. at Turtle Creek GC If you want a dramatic and competitive story, look no further than the event at the tough Turtle Creek Golf Club. Turtle Creek is built in the hills of Eastern Pennsylvania with water coming into play on many holes. The Boys-15-19 Division was as competitive as ever with 10 players finishing within six strokes of each other. Shipyard Golf Club This was the biggest IJGT Southeast island event of the season, with 111 players competing in the event. In the Boys 15-19 Division, there was a five-person playoff between Aaron Terrazas, Sam Meuret, Mickey Werenski, Bryan Gagnon, and Alan Cooke. After one hole, Terrazas walked away with the first-place title. IJGT 2012-2013 Season Recaps

Upstate Challenge at Timber Banks GC Heading to Upstate New York is always a treat for the IJGT staff and Timber Banks did not disappoint. The beautiful Jack Nicklaus design was built through a forest creating tree lined fairways and tough tee shots. The challenge as always with a Nicklaus design was the large undulating greens that surprised anyone without good touch. Coming down from Montreal, Canada, Cedric Laverdure found a way around the course and won the event by 10 strokes. Colonial Open at Golden Horseshoe It is always exciting to be able to play two different courses over the weekend especially if they are as good as both the Green and Gold golf courses are at Golden Horseshoe. The historic town of Williamsburg, Va., played host to a great event which was highlighted by the famous par-3 No. 16 which is a small island green approached from high elevation. Port Royal Golf Club Long time IJGT player, Matthew Rushton of Cape Town, South Africa, make his 2012 debut at Port Royal collecting victory in the Boys 15-19 Division after a final-round 3-under-par 69. Clementina Rodriguez of Caracas, Venezuela, held off a strong field in the Girls Division to earn her first IJGT title in the 2012-2013 season. Architects Golf Club (MAJOR) As always the Architects Golf Club boosted one of the IJGT’s biggest fields of the season. The course designed as replicas of 18 famous golf architects always sets for some exciting golf. The event was highlighted by Jared Mactas who found a way to fire under-par in both rounds to finish the event at an impressive 4-under-par 138. College Classic at Penn State University Heading back to Happy Valley is always exciting as the Penn State Golf Courses are always in supreme condition. As an addition to this event Director of College Placement, Ann Maness, was on site and had a full schedule of appointments as young golfers look to take the next step in their lives. GA Open at Savannah Quarters Savannah Quarters Country Club opened their doors to the IJGT for the first time and our players were treated to an amazing golf course with slick greens. Shota Ozaki of Tokyo, Japan, stole the show on Sunday shooting a 3-under-par 69 and only needing 22 putts to do so. He won the tournament which was his first IJGT title. Hershey Links Headed back to Hershey for the second time of the season was a little different as the Links Course boosts a whole different monster than the East Course in which we played a little over a month before. The Links is defined by its large ravines on most holes and makes for a challenge if you are missing the fairway. Some tough wind conditions tested the golfers who battled to post some very impressive scores. IJGT Open at RTJ Trail at Oxmoor Valley Oxmoor Valley, a Robert Trent Jones course design, was a new venue for the IJGT Southeast Tour. Steep elevation changes, abnormally cold weather and tough hole locations made for difficult course conditions throughout the weekend. In the Boys 15-19, there was a 3-hole playoff between Connor Slane of Helena, Ala., and Vasili Kartos of Birmingham, Ala., with Slane walking away with the first-place title. Oyster Reef Golf Club In the Boys 15-19 Division, there was a six-hole playoff between Ewen Ferguson of Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Zachary Boe of Bluffton, S.C., with Ferguson walking away with the first place title. Oyster Reef, a Rees Jones designed course is challenging with out of bounds, deep bunkers, as well as spectacular views of the Port Royal Sound.

Hampton Hall (MAJOR) Olivia Landino of Hermitage, PA walked away with the first-place title in the Girls Division, shooting an impressive final round score of 7-under-par 65. Throughout the weekend as well, Green ribbons were worn in remembrance of the victims of Hurricane Sandy. AB Golf Designs Thanksgiving Day Classic The tournament’s title sponsor, AB Golf Designs, gave away a head cover to every player in the field. Over the weekend, the first two rounds were competed upon the TPC Sawgrass Dye’s Valley Course, while the final round was competed on the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course. Old South Golf Links Old South played host to the final IJGT Discovery Tour event for Fall 2012. Jonathan Griz from Bluffton, S.C., walked away with the first-place title. In the Boys 15-19 Division, Matthew Rushton of Cape Town, South Africa, shot an impressive 4-under 140 to walk away with the first-place title. IJGT Pacific Coast (MAJOR) at Sandpiper Sandpiper Golf Course in Santa Barbara, Calif., played host to one of the IJGT Major Championships. The course hanging right on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean made for a picturesque weekend. Tough rain and wind coming off the ocean tested all the competitors. 5th Annual Hank Haney Invitational Throughout the weekend, the Hank Haney Invitational was conducted on Sea Pines Ocean Course, as well as Harbour Town Golf Links, which plays host to the annual PGA TOUR event on Hilton Head Island. After the practice round on Friday, Hank Haney spoke to IJGT members at the banquet. PURE Grips Jr Open at Troon North Troon North was a first time venue for the IJGT West Coast Tour, and the tournament itself was conducted on Troon’s Pinnacle course. Considered one of the more difficult courses the IJGT goes to, accuracy is necessary off the tee at this desert-style track. The tournament title sponsor, PURE Grips, provided a free set of grips with free installation to every player in the field. In the Boys 15-19 Division, there was a three-hole playoff between Christopher Petefish of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Justin Shluker of Park City, Utah, with Petefish taking away the champion title for the older boys division. Florida Swing at Harmony Golf Preserve Harmony Golf Preserve was a first time venue for the IJGT Southeast Tour. The Johnny Miller designed played difficult, yet fair for the competitors at the tournament. Daniel Hudson walked away with his first IJGT title after two great rounds including 2-under-par 70 on Sunday.

IJGT 2012-2013 Season Recaps

NorCal Open at Eagle Ridge Golf Club The first trip to Northern California proved to be quite the challenge for our juniors. Eagle Ridge Golf Club is in Gilroy, Calif., which is the Garlic Capital of the United States. Players were tested with many elevation changes and tight landing areas off the tee. Ryan Garfield held on to win in the Boys 15-19 Division claiming his first IJGT title.

IJGT 2012-2013 Season Recaps

Hilton Head Open at Dolphin Head After a limited field in the Summer of 2012, the IJGT returned to Dolphin Head for our first local event of 2013. The greens were rolling very fast, which gave the players many fits leading to many three-putts. Ayaka Nakayama of Kanagawa, Japan returned to the winner’s circle after winning seven times last year. Shootout at Colleton River Plantation The Shootout at Colleton River was played on the Pete Dye designed course, which has been described by Dye himself “the best course I have ever built”. Colleton is a stunning links-style course, with unobstructed views of the Port Royal Sound & Atlantic Ocean. The course is also host to regular tournaments such as the S.C. Amateur, US Amateur Qualifier, & the US Open Qualifier. It was also featured in the Robert Redford film, The Legend of Bagger Vance. Major Carolina Championship at Kiawah The 2013 Carolina Championship was conducted on Kiawah’s Turtle Point Course for Saturday’s round, as well as Kiawah’s Ocean Course, a Pete Dye design, on Sunday. Kiawah’s Ocean Course played host to the 2012 PGA Championship in August, which was won this past year by 24-year-old Irishman, Rory McIlroy. Although the yardage is not far on the Ocean Course, the track plays long due to difficult winds coming off the ocean, as well as sandy terrain. Throughout the weekend, strong winds, heavy rain, and cold temperatures were testing for the players. The Georgia Junior at Savannah Harbor Savannah Harbor, host of the Champions Tour Legends of Golf event, is always among a member favorite as the course is continuously in pristine condition. Rain brought a challenge as play had to be suspended once but we were able to complete all 36 holes which boasted such great golf on the PGA TOUR tested course. Golden Gate Junior at Presidio (MAJOR) Presido Golf Club, located in the heart of downtown San Francisco, was a brand new venue for the IJGT West Coast tour. Although the course did not tip out very far, steep elevation changes made it difficult to score low throughout the weekend. Many members from the Chris Trevino Golf Institute of Reno, Nev., participated in the event. IJGT Family Weekend at Port Royal Many families traveled from across the country to participate in Family Weekend at the beautiful Port Royal Golf Club. Parents played with their kids during the Friday practice round on Friday, with a banquet following just after in the evening. The Shamrock Shootout at Palmetto Hall In the Boys 15-19 Division, there was a two-hole playoff between GeunTae Kim of SuSeong DaeGu, South Korea, and Saravit Kerdsinchai of Nonthaburi, Thailand, with Kim walking away with the first-place title. The IJGT Discovery Tour event was held on Saturday, with Jonathan Griz of Bluffton S.C., and Sophie Guo of Bluffton S.C. walking away with first-place titles. The Bridgestone Series at Westfields Westfields Golf Club played host to the first tournament for the Northeast Tour in Spring 2013. Westfields Golf Club was in impressive shape for having received snow just the week prior to our arrival. The cold conditions did not leave the area but some stellar play of the athletes looking to get their season going showed their dedication to the game of golf. Philly Challenge at White Manor CC This was a first time venue for the IJGT and White Manor did not disappoint. Though temperatures were not ideal this did not stop the competitors from taking to the challenging golf course. This event was highlighted by the impressive scores of Matt Barto who won his first IJGT title.

The Arizona Open at Wigwam Golf Resort Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., the golf course allowed for low rounds throughout the weekend, as well as the fastest recorded Pace of Play time of the 2012-2013 season, with the slowest group of the weekend playing in 4 hrs and 2 mins. The tournament featured 60 elite golfers, representing 17 states, Washington D.C., Canada, and Colombia. The Bridgestone Series at Greate Bay Greate Bay Country Club has always been a consistent stop on the IJGT schedule. The spectacular southern New Jersey design combines with its lightning fast greens to create an impressive challenge. A tournament best 71 by Cole Berman was impressive in the conditions. The College Classic at Duke University The annual stop in Durham was again a big hit with our members drawing some of the best players from the Northeast and Southeast tours. Ana Paula Valdes of Morelia, Mexico, was the story of the week as she blew away the field of 29 girls after a final-round 1-under-par 71. IJGT Junior at Hershey Links Heading back to Hershey Links was impressive as always. This time the temperatures were down and the winds were up. The competition was on and the competitors all battled to a tough finish with eight players finishing within five strokes of each other in the Boys 15-19 Division. #RocktheSocks Open at Bulle Rock Pete Dye’s Maryland masterpiece is ranked the No. 1 golf course that you can play in the state of Maryland, with steep elevation changes and spectacular views. The tournament title sponsor, KENTWOOL Socks, provided a free pair of socks to every player in the field. IJGT Classic at Oyster Reef Golf Club Moyu Sasaki of Tokyo, Japan, and GeunTae Kim of SuSeong-DaeGu, South Korea, picked up their second titles of the 2012-2013 season at the spring Event at Oyster Reef. Western PA. Major at Nemacolin (MAJOR) The one part of this event that will always be remembered is the two hours of snow that fell on the competitors on Saturday. However, the Nemacolin staff kept both courses in great condition. The event is always highlighted by the Mystic Rock Course that has been PGA TOUR tested and creates a certain atmosphere of top-notch golf. The Architects Cup Being back to Architects for the second time of the season we saw a lot better weather conditions and the course was in full swing as players found their way around the course. The scores were low as the players took advantage of these impressive conditions. The event was highlighted by Nate Menon of Wyomissing, Pa., who fired a 6-under-par 65 to seal his second victory in a row in the Boys 14 & Under Division.

IJGT 2012-2013 Season Recaps

Lowcountry Junior at Oldfield GC Wet course conditions, threatening weather and cold climate affected the field all weekend, ultimately resulting in a cancelation to Sunday’s final round. Regardless of all the rain, Luke Tetreault of Horseheads, N.Y., walked away with a first place title in the 15-19 Boys Division, shooting an even first round 72. In the Girls Division, there was a 3-way tie after round one between Ceha Lee of Bundang-Gu, South Korea, Margine Arguello of Panama City, Panama, and Thamonpat Siriko, of Bangkok, Thailand, with Lee walking away with the first-place title after a scorecard playoff.

Will Miles of Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Clementina Rodriguez of Caracas, Venezuela, earned an invitation to the prestigious Callaway Junior World Championships with their victories at Bear Creek. AB Golf Designs Junior at Ravenwood GC Ravenwood played host for the first time and the golf course looked like it was straight out of a picture. The tournament title sponsor, AB Golf Designs, provided a free headcover to every player in the field. This set a precedent for the weekend as everyone was happy as the weather was perfect in Upstate New York. The Reno Junior at ArrowCreek ArrowCreek Country Club was a new venue for the IJGT West Coast tour, with it being our first event ever in Northern Nevada. This Arnold Palmer designed course had breathtaking views of the nearby mountains. 16 members of the Chris Trevino Golf Institute competed in the tournament. IJGT Major Championship at Hershey The Major Championship presented by Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy was the biggest event of the 2012-2013 season outside of the Bridgestone Golf Tournament of Champions. Hank Haney made his way to the event and spoke to the players on Saturday which was taken in by many aspiring collegiate golfers. The Orlando Junior at Falcon’s Fire The spring stop at Falcon’s Fire was again full of low scores and drama on the closing holes. Manuel Velez of Panama City, Panama, continued his dominance at Falcon’s Fire, edging out another victory in the Boys 15-19 Division. PURE Grips Shootout at Troon North The tournament title sponsor, PURE Grips, provided a free set of grips with free installation services to every player in the field. Troon North, played this spring on its Monument Course, is ranked by Golfweek as the fifth best course you can play in the state of Arizona. Scorching hot temperatures of mid to low 90s made it both physically and mentially draining throughout the weekend for players. The Bridgestone Series at Longaberger Making our way to the famous Longaberger golf club in the rolling hill of Eastern Ohio was a first for the IJGT. The course was a tough test of golf in which many players triumphed over the weekend. The weekend was highlighted by C.J. Hughes final round of 70 in which was good enough for him to win his first IJGT title.

Thank you to all of our great sponsors during the 2012-2013 Season!
