In addition to being one of the oldest international schools in the world, Istanbul International Community School is among Europe’s most noteworthy. Founded in 1911 to educate the children of the Robert College faculty, the school has maintained a tradition of academic excellence for a century. IICS is a private, non-profit, secular, coeducational pre K-12 day school serving the educational needs of Istanbul’s international community (holders of non-Turkish passports). The school has two divisions: the Primary School (PK-6th grades) and the Secondary School (7th-12th grades). The language of instruction at IICS is English.

IICS HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA IICS High School Diploma requires completion of a minimum of 26 credits (1 credit=1 full year). A typical minimum credit distribution would be: English 4 years Humanities (Social Studies) 4 years Mathematics 4 years Science 4 years Foreign Languages 4 years Physical Education 2 years Design 1 year Arts 2 years Personal Project 1 year A student must acquire a score of at least '3' to receive IICS credit for any particular course. Students must carry a full time load every year at IICS.
