Course Expectations: The purpose of this discussion section is to supplement material presented by Dr. Elizinga’s lectures by giving you the opportunity to ask questions and reinforcing the topics covered in the lecture. If you have specific questions that you would like to be addressed during ing discussion section, please email them to me in advance so that I can come with examples or an alternate explanation from that of the lectures or book. Grading: This discussion section grade accounts for 25 out of the possible 400 points in this course. During the semester, you will be given 5 online quizzes, worth 5 points each. There may be and additional 6th quiz. If so, the lowest quiz grade will be dropped. Exams: I am responsible for grading your two midterm exams as well as your final exam. I will make every effort to grade them as fairly as possible. If you have any questions regarding your grade, please notify me as soon as possible. If I have made a simple arithmetic error, please bring your test to section or office hours and show me the error so that I can change your grade. If you have any other concerns, please notify me in writing within one week of getting your test back by placing ing your written argument in my mailbox on the second floor of Wilson Hall or by handing it to me in section. If you are dissatisfied with the result of our discussion, you may then approach Gabriel Murtaugh, the head TA.
