THE IGHSAU PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM Athletics has long brought people together. Across the state of Iowa, when a local high school qualifies for the state tournament, entire communities come together and cheer their student-athletes on to victory. The support and loyalty shown by parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors, and community members is a long-standing tradition in Iowa. The IGHSAU will collaborate with you to create a partnership program that allows your organization and brand to tap into this consumer loyalty and support. A partnership with the IGHSAU will focus on creating quality exposure and developing strong relationships with this engaged and emotionally connected audience across the state. Iowa boasts a rich history in female athletics. Since its inception, the IGHSAU, with the support of its corporate partners, has continued the legacy of longtime Executive Director, Dr. E. Wayne Cooley, to ensure that every girl walks down the street in every Iowa town with her head just as high as every boy. The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union continually receives positive remarks and comments from student-athletes, administrators, parents, officials, and many others about the positive impact the organization has had on the lives of Iowa girls in athletics. Participation in girls' athletics continues to rise and with the support of corporate partners, student-athletes will continue to enjoy the very best athletic experience. THE IGHSAU AND GIRLS IN ATHLETICS The only state activity association in the nation solely devoted to promoting, directing, and regulating interscholastic athletics for junior high and high school girls NearlyÂ 70,000 young women participate in at least one (1) IGHSAU-sponsored athletic event Research conducted by the Women's Sports Foundation shows that teens who participate in athletics: Fare better in areas of psychological health Report earning better marks in the classroom Engage in multiple healthy behaviors Show signs of high self-esteem, higher levels of social support, and fewer feelings of lonliness Famous Iowa Girls include: Dr. Peggy Whitson, Governor Kim Reynolds, Olympians Lolo Jones and Shelby Houlihan, and many more!

These are two significant demographics for brands to connect with. The "Proud Parent" maintains buying power in the household. The "High School Athlete" somewhat influences the buying power of the "Proud Parent", but has more potential to grow into the decision-maker later in life.
