Requires little space and allows versatile use The compact Kplus sensor in rectangular IQ design is used for metal object position determination in industrial applications with limited space conditions. Due to its constant sensing range for all metals and the PUR cable, suitable for use in drag chains, the sensor is suited, without any extra effort, for multiple application scenarios within an installation. High reliability even under extreme conditions Full-metal sensors are used wherever an application requires special resistance, e.g. when it comes to coping with important stress factors in industrial applications such as lathes or milling machines. Here, the sensor housing has to reliably withstand rapid changes of temperature and aggressive media such as lubricants and coolants. Moreover, the robust high-grade stainless steel design offers optimum protection against abrasive parts in metal-cutting machining. In the steel industry or in automotive industry, however, it is weld spatter, that presents a strain on the sensor housing. Here, the design with nonstick coating combined with the impact resistant sensing face is the ideal solution to ensure safe operation. The compact and short design permits use even in the smallest of spaces.

Long life and robustness for position detection in a very small space Whether used in factory automation, with oils and coolants, in mobile applications or the food and beverage industry: Thanks to their robust full-metal housing, these small inductive M8 sensors are extremely resistant problem solvers, for example when it comes to end position detection. Even permanent contact with moisture, oils or aggressive cleaning agents is not a problem for these sensors. Extreme temperatures (-40...85 or 0...100 °C, depending on the version) do not affect precise position detection. Even where space is at a premium and the sensors are mounted closely to each other, they maintain their long sensing range and provide sufficient excess gain. ifm provides M8 ecolink connectors in various designs for easy and reliable electrical connection.

Light, small and tough The extremely compact housing has its strength wherever there is restricted space for sensors or where the additional mass is to be kept low: In factory automation, on machine tools or on fast moving robot arms the miniature sensor scores with a range that is almost as long as that of larger designs. Thanks to its high-grade stainless steel housing it is extremely resistant. With a temperature range from -40 to 85 °C it is also suited for use in the food industry. The threads are precisely matched to each other to simplify installation in restricted spaces. The sensor can be screwed into the provided bore hole from the front or from the back. Four LEDs arranged in 90° steps allow visual inspection of the switching state in any position.

Continuous monitoring of empty and overflow condition The KQ10 for range monitoring can â&#x20AC;&#x153;seeâ&#x20AC;? through all non-metallic walls, to detect granulates or liquids without contact. Therefore, no maintenance is required. Process values of 0...100 % can continuously be transferred via IO-Link over the entire length of 250 mm without dead band. 20 LEDs display the real level inside the vessel directly at the sensor. If several KQ10 units are combined, the detection zone can be increased accordingly. Three switch points with just one sensor Up to three point levels can be monitored with just one sensor where normally three sensors would be needed â&#x20AC;&#x201C; and this at the same time with continuous range monitoring. Switch points and other functions such as NC / NO, hysteresis or orientation and detection zone of the sensor can be set.

Point level and continuous level monitoring As opposed to the conventional solution with two point level sensors each at the lower (empty) and upper end (overflow) of the tank, one single KQ10 comes with three switch points to indicate empty, full and overflow condition. This reduces the number of sensors and installation complexity. Moreover, it continuously measures levels in ranges of 250 mm and provides these, in addition to the switching states, as a percentage value via IO-Link. Slight deposits on the inner walls of the tank do not impair the level detection, and they can be signalled via the switching output or IO-Link if the threshold is exceeded. This permanent condition monitoring prevents unplanned production downtime.

Made for demanding environments The new compact power pack from ifm is predestined for the rough environments in welding applications. Its non-stick coating prevents the sticking of weld slag, which simply rolls off the robust metal housing. The position sensor detects even tiny changes in the switching area as may occur due to dirt or wear, providing the user with additional information for condition-based maintenance of his installation. The user thus gets additional information for condition-based maintenance of his installation. Even in cases of heavy soiling and impact the sensor functions reliably and always guarantees safe operation. Non-contact sensing through covers The sensor can detect objects through non-ferromagnetic covers, an additional protection. The low-cost cover can be exchanged easily without any technical staff.

Compact design for limited space in the food industry The space-saving design with lateral M18 thread and connector pointing down is the perfect solution for all requirements in hygienic and wet areas. The accurate laser guarantees reliable detection of tiny objects from Ø 30 μm Quick set-up: no need to align transmitter and receiver Soiling is signalled by permanent monitoring of the quantity of light Sensor modes (power, speed, high resolution) can be set in accordance with the specific application

Highest accuracy in the micrometre range ifm’s new units are designed for part monitoring of precision engineering, medical or other tiny components. Thanks to the precise laser, the photoelectric fork sensor even detects objects with a diameter of only 30 μm. Settings and diagnostics with IO-Link Thanks to IO-Link, adaptation of the senor settings to suit individual process or environmental requirements is also possible. In the power mode, high light intensity ensures that objects are reliably detected even under difficult conditions. In the speed mode, switching frequencies of up to 10,000 Hz are possible. Moreover, the sensor detects it if its own lens is soiled, so that it can be cleaned in time to guarantee process reliability.

Reflectivity to differentiate between objects The OGD Reflectivity determines the reflectivity of objects in addition to providing distance information in order to increase the reliability of the process control. The reflectivity indicates how much of the emitted light is reflected by a body and varies according to the colour and the properties of the surface. This is why the sensor can, for example, distinguish between beverage crates of different colours and detect the absence of print labels on packages to be shipped. Since the sensor provides the reflectivity in addition to the distance via a second switching output, automated sorting applications can be easily implemented. With the OGD Reflectivity, all parameters can be set as usual using three pushbuttons and are clearly indicated on the two-colour display.

Precise object scan for quality control In assembly and handling applications, the profiler does not only verify the presence of an object, but it checks whether the correct component has been used and properly installed. A push of a button is all that is required to compare the contour of an object with the taught target contour stored in the profiler. The photoelectronic line scanner reliably detects tiny differences between nearly identical components. Since the distance is not relevant, the PMD profiler does not require complicated positioning as is the case with 1D sensors. Thanks to the insensitivity to extraneous light, no screening or external illumination is required as is the case with camera systems performing to this high level of accuracy. With its user-friendly colour display and intuitive setting with only 3 pushbuttons, the sensor is ready for use within a few minutes without requiring any software. It is possible to either transmit information on the reject rate or the detected object profiles via IO-Link.

Direct connection reduces wiring The MVQ201 continuously monitors the position of the valve to the nearest degree. Gripper navigation The 3D sensor detects the object position, even when objects are moving, and transmits it to the robot control. The system can detect rectangular, round and irregular shapes and transmit not only the position of their centre of gravity, but also their number and dimensions to the controller. Typical objects are cardboard packages, buckets, kegs, cans, bags or luggage. Automated gripper systems increase productivity, as they are able to quickly and evenly carry out monotonous manufacturing steps. Plugin for easy integration into UR systems The newly developed software plugin â&#x20AC;&#x153;URCapâ&#x20AC;? allows direct communication between the sensor and the controller of lightweight robots from Universal Robots (UR). Augmented reality The 3D smart camera is the first 3D sensor system with integrated 2D camera. The video image is displayed with real-time graphics, symbols or texts. They are either triggered by the integrated driver assistance system or by the machine controller via CAN. Thus, the user can always see all relevant warnings or other relevant details in the camera image. Integrated assistance system In addition to the 3D and 2D image sensor a complete evaluation system is integrated in the sensor system. This system provides an independent assistance system for collision avoidance for the user. Set-up only requires just a few steps using the ifm Vision Assistant PC software. In addition to the analogue video output the smart camera also features a CAN and Ethernet UDP interface. The system can use this interface to supply warnings in critical situations autonomously.

Easy retrofitting The 3D collision warning system is based on the established 3D sensors from ifm. It precisely detects obstacles and visualises them in a 2D image on a monitor. This keeps the driver informed about the trigger of the alarm and the area to be monitored at all times. Thanks to powerful algorithms, false tripping is virtually excluded. The system is set up easily via the supplied operating display, no PC is required. Ready-to-start application package The set includes all components to set up a fully functioning collision warning system on a mobile machine, e.g. a fork lift, wheel loader, excavator, reach stacker or transport vehicle within a few minutes.

Features and benefits Accident prevention The driver can have poor visibility of some areas around the machine which can lead to dangerous situations. Further accident risks result from time pressure or fatigue of the machine operator. The ifm driver assistance system, which supports the daily work of the driver, provides the remedy. Active obstacle detection The active obstacle detection developed by ifm monitors six danger zones around the vehicle and warns the driver of imminent collisions in good time. For this purpose, a tried-and-tested 3D time-of-flight system from ifm is used which reduces false alarms to a minimum thanks to a sophisticated algorithm. Warnings are provided visually, acoustically and in the form of icons via the supplied 7" monitor. Detection of reflective clothing Thanks to a special classification of reflective materials, e.g. reflective vests or clothing, the collision warning for persons can be given priority over other objects. This increases the safety of persons.

Retrofit set for mobile machines The innovation: The driver assistance system is provided as a ready-to-start application package. It contains all necessary components including any cables and mounting accessories. This means it can be easily retrofitted on all mobile machines with 24 V on-board system voltage*. Easy set-up After mechanical installation of the system and plug & play wiring, set-up is carried out within a few minutes via the supplied colour display. Easy extension for additional inputs and outputs The O3M 3D camera system is provided by default with a CAN connection for integration in mobile machines, on which this bus is often installed. On machines without CAN bus, the new I/O module can be connected directly to the 3D camera by means of the supplied connection cable. The module extends the system adding binary and analogue inputs and outputs, which can then be connected to a controller without a bus system. Intuitive parameter setting and programming The I/O module is pre-programmed and ready for use. Easy parameter setting or complex logic programming allow the module to be adapted to the individual application by means of a user-friendly graphic function block diagram in the â&#x20AC;?Vision Assistantâ&#x20AC;&#x153; software.

Features and benefits Inputs and outputs for O3M 3D camera system The I/O module extends the 3D system O3M, which by default only features one CAN connection and one Ethernet connection, via additional binary and analogue inputs and outputs. In total, the I/O module provides 2 analogue inputs (0...32000 mV), 10 binary inputs, 1 PWM output and 11 binary outputs, which are all pre-programmed. A CAN bus allows for connection of the I/O module to the 3D system. The pre-assembled jumper cable as well as the connection cables for the inputs and outputs are supplied with the module. Parameter setting and logic creation Parameter setting of the 3D system and logic creation is done via the ifm Vision Assistant. The I/O module does not require any programming. The logic is represented graphically in a kind of function block diagram in the Vision Assistant. It can consist of simple AND/OR functions but it can also involve arithmetic operations with memory options. Easy retrofitting The I/O module is perfectly suited for retrofitting 3D systems on existing mobile machines or industrial plants, which do not feature a CAN bus. It just requires connecting the module’s inputs and outputs to the existing system in order to allow, for example, for control of acoustic or optic signal generators and actuators. In industrial plants, connection to the existing PLC is achieved via the I/O module’s binary outputs. This considerably simplifies the integration of the 3D camera system.

Heavy-duty universal cameras Work area and rear area monitoring are becoming more and more important for mobile machines. The O2M camera system with analogue video output (PAL) is designed for particularly difficult conditions and excels thanks to its pressure-resistant housing and a light sensitivity of < 0.05 lux. The new O2M camera system can, for instance, be directly connected to the graphic PDM360 dialogue modules with colour display and analogue interface. This makes it possible to use the dialogue module not only to display machine information but also images of up to two cameras. Consequently, no separate monitor is needed. Besides, the plug & play monitors E2M231 or E2M232 can be connected.

Safety light grid with integrated muting function The new generation of light grids allows for the muting mode without an external junction box or a muting relay being required as they are already integrated into the receiving element. The supported muting versions are available as either crossbeam or parallel muting. Both versions allow transported material to be safely passed in or out, via the protected area. A status light, integrated into the receiver, allows for indication of the operating status. The muting arms can easily be directly installed on the light grid and are available in two versions: either as muting arms with multi-beam sensors, similar to a miniature light grid, or as pre-mounted mounting set with single-beam sensors. No complex installation and adjustments are necessary anymore. In conclusion, a complete package for increased safety, configured for your application, quick and easy to mount.

Ideal solution for hygienic production plants The new PM15 pressure sensor has a unique flush sealing concept. This concept allows hygienic integration of small ceramic-capacitive measuring cells in small pipes, for example, in dosing and filling systems, which was not possible before. Thanks to the G 1/2 thread, it can be installed without requiring expensive adapters. Flush fitting makes it possible to use viscous media and guarantees optimum results for CIP processes. For each sensor, a factory certificate is available for free download. Maintenance-free and robust On the process side, the sensor is maintenance-free because it has no elastomer seal. The flush and robust ceramic measuring cell is resistant to pressure and vacuum shocks and to impact by abrasive substances. The sensor is resistant to medium temperatures of up to 150 °C (max. 1h).

Fast and easy exchange Despite numerous alternatives valve plugs are still used for the connection of sensors in many plants. ifmâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s PT50xx series now also includes compact pressure sensors with an integrated valve plug. This makes it easy to integrate the sensors into existing plants and to use the existing wiring, which saves time and money. Tried-and-tested technology and high IP protection rating The PT50xx is based on the PT5 family which is perfectly tried and tested on the market. It features a robust thin-film measuring cell without a sealing ring in compact design with 19 mm across flats. With a suitable socket (e.g. E30447) the valve plug used here reaches IP 67 protection rating. In contrast to the IP 65 sensors with valve plug which are common on the market the operational reliability is higher.

Miniaturisation for industrial applications The PV pressure sensor features a thin-film measuring cell directly welded with the process connection. This technology guarantees high accuracy in a very compact housing with only 19 mm across flats at a cost-optimised price/performance ratio. Applications With the seal-less design of the process connection the sensors can be used not only in hydraulic applications but also in inert gases. In industrial applications the laser labelling on the housing ensures clear part identification. Even in adverse environmental conditions, the sensor remains permanently identifiable. IO-Link allows the pressure sensor to continuously transmit process values (system pressure and temperature) as well as other important data, such as peak counter. Moreover, the digital measurement results are more accurate because there are no conversion losses by D/A converters or external influences.

Convenient: Simultaneous recording of several process values The SD series flow sensors detect the important industrial gases helium, argon, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and air. This makes them the ideal choice for bottling and packaging machines in the food industry as well as for welding, cutting or soldering processes in which protective gases are used. Besides the current flow rate, the sensors also detect temperature, pressure and the total volumetric flow quantity. The values can be read on the colour display and are available as digital data via IO-Link. User-friendly handling via IO-Link IO-Link provides further useful features that simplify the handling of the sensors: In the simulation mode, customised display and switch point settings can be checked before set-up and by means of the flash mode, the user can quickly visually identify the sensor with the triggered output.

Injection moulding machine The cooling water quantity and the temperature are key factors when it comes to the quality of the final product. Clogging must be detected without delay. This is ensured by the SM flow sensor. Hardening system The cooling curves of workpieces must be adhered to during hardening processes. This is done by applying a defined quantity of cooling water to the previously heated workpiece. The SM detects potential clogging, ensuring a continuously high product quality.

To separately monitor individual cooling lines, several flow meters are used simultaneously. Their slim design featuring an ideal installation position and a connector position optimised for practical use renders complex piping and the displacement of sensors unnecessary. This allows use in standard water distributors with an internal diameter of 50 mm. Another characteristic: No inlet and outlet pipe lengths upstream and downstream of the sensor are required. This enables maximum flexibility for the layout and installation of the plant.

Machine tools Permanent cooling water supply ensures consistent quality and extends the lifetime of the tool. Swarf can clog cooling water pipes. The SM detects this in time and prevents overheating of the tools. Oven construction Lack of cooling water can lead to dangerous excessive temperatures in the oven. The SM monitors the cooling water quantity and temperature up to 90 °C. Expensive downtime due to excess temperature is a thing of the past.

Maximum reliability for temperature-sensitive processes Thanks to the improved inline calibration process, the TCC achieves an accuracy of Âą 0.2 K across the entire measuring range. Permanent status checking Thanks to the calibration check technology, the TCC permanently checks its own drift behaviour. The sensor compares the temperature value to the simultaneously measured reference value. If the deviation is outside the tolerance range, which can be set between 0.5 and 3 K, the TCC provides an optical signal and sends a message to the central controller via IO-Link and the diagnostic output. The same applies to cases of serious malfunctions. Quality assurance thanks to event-related measures Particularly in production processes where exact temperature values are decisive for the product quality, it is important that the measured values are absolutely precise. The TCC allows plant operators to take event-related measures in case of drifts – instead of waiting for the next planned calibration interval. This reduces the risk of losing entire production batches due to faulty production temperatures. Transparent sensor communication Visual and digital indication: The TCC provides the current status in a simple and clear way. If the LED on the sensor is green, the unit operates reliably. Blue indicates a temperature deviation outside the tolerance range. Red indicates a serious malfunction, such as a failure of the main measuring element. Besides, the TCC automatically stores all the data required for consistent documentation via IO-Link: installation date, operating hours, temperature histogram as well as logbooks on event messages (operating hours and event number) and on the calibration check status (operating hours, temperature value, drift value, limit and status). Simulation mode: guaranteed reliability even before installation The value from which the TCC provides a message can be defined via software. In the simulation mode, the process temperature and the reference temperature, among others, can be freely selected to verify whether the sensor has been correctly integrated into the controller. This process simulation completes the high level of reliability offered by the TCC.

Extremely small, many installation options The CompactM8 product family convinces by its flat and slim design. The modules are therefore ideal for robotics, handling and assembly technology. They are available with AS-i technology, with additional AUX outputs and as passive version. The modules are installed via two fixing holes from the front or from the side. Optional accessories allow installation on a DIN rail. Mechanical end stop for easy mounting The ecolink technology prevents incorrect mounting: An integrated mechanical end stop protects the O-ring of the M8 sockets against destruction. Fast and safe mounting is thus possible without expensive tightening torque tools without jeopardising the functioning and the ingress resistance of the module.

High protection rating for use in the field With their high protection rating of IP 65, 67 and 68 the modules meet all requirements for use in harsh industrial environments. Switching of decentralised inputs and outputs via IO-Link The new IO-Link input /output modules provide an easy and cost-effective way to add powerful digital inputs and outputs to ifmâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s IO-Link master module for field use. Typical tasks include decentralised switching of loads and actuators or collecting and processing of digital signals. Applications The modules are available in two designs: The orange field module of the coolant series is resistant to oils and coolants and suited for general industrial applications. The grey module is ideally suited for hygienic and food applications due to the material used for the housing. It has the high protection rating IP 68 / IP 69K.

Powerful inputs/outputs The unit features six or ten M12 ports with two digital inputs or outputs each. Output modules They are supplied from two independent, electrically isolated voltage sources. The left-hand M12 sockets are supplied via pins 1 and 3 of the supply connector and the right-hand M12 sockets via pins 2 and 4. Both voltage supplies can be loaded with max. 1.8 A. IO-Link sensors in the field In many installations, sensors have to be installed far away from their connection point. Since IO-Link has only a guaranteed range of 20 m, high additional costs can incur if longer ranges are required. Using the IO-Link repeater E30444, this distance can be increased*, which reduces costs significantly. To do so, the IO-Link repeaters are simply installed in series into the cable, depending on the application and the requested range. The maximum range* depends on the type of transmission, the cable crosssection and the current consumption of the connected device. The IO-Link repeater is transparent to masters and functions manufacturer-independently on all certified IO-Link masters. SIO operation is not possible with the IO-Link repeater. The process data are delayed by up to one cycle, acyclic data are delayed by up to two cycles per repeater.

Current status in the field In older installations, analogue or digital output signals from sensors are mostly sent directly to standard input cards of controllers and processed further there. Also, todayâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s sensors are normally equipped with IO-Link. This means they also transmit relevant data that would be lost with conventional use. Use the advantages of the future today With the IO-Link data splitter it is now possible to enable plant-independent monitoring in a conventional system previously operated in the SIO mode. The controller-related output signals are still sent in the SIO mode to the inputs of the controller. In addition, the process value and other sensor data are measured and transmitted via IO-Link to higher-level systems (Smart Observer, cloud). For efficient vibration diagnostics The VSM101 acceleration sensor can detect changes in vibration on the x, y and z axis. This spatial perception simplifies machine condition monitoring where forces and unbalances not only affect just one axis of motion, as is the case with motors and moving parts of the installation. Important indicator of condition monitoring The acceleration signal plays an important role in machine and plant condition monitoring. It is an indicator of various symptoms, such as unbalance, damaged bearings or crashes that may lead to machine failure or even irreparable damage. The detected raw data is transferred for further evaluation to an external device, such as the VSE diagnostic electronics from ifm.

Robust: MEMS measuring principle The VSM101 acceleration sensor is based on a MEMS chip (capacitive measuring principle) and designed for demanding industrial applications. Thanks to MEMS technology, the sensor’s proper functioning can be checked actively via the diagnostic electronics (self-test). Widely compatible: IEPE standard The sensor transmits its data according to the IEPE signal, which is a standard on the market, e.g. for acceleration sensors. Flexible indication of machine conditions On machines, installations or conveyor belts: different signal light colours indicate operating states or technical problems in a clearly visible way. This innovative signal lamp is a powerful alternative to conventional lamps that have more than one lighting segment. The single lighting segment can glow in up to seven different colours. In addition, permanent light or different blinking modes can be set for each colour. The lamp can be controlled using IO-Link, but conventional triggering of three different colours via three digital inputs is also possible. This makes it possible to easily replace conventional signal lamps with this signal lamp. Additionally, versions featuring a buzzer and / or a wear-free freely assignable pushbutton are available.

Three operating modes The highlight of this signal lamp are the three different operating modes offering maximum versatility. IO-Link offers the highest degree of flexibility for operation and configuration, but using the three digital inputs, the colours can also be selected without using IO-Link. Possible colours are red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, yellow and white. IO-Link mode In this mode, the seven colours, the buzzer and the pushbutton can be controlled and configured. The parameter setting (blinking modes, melody, etc.) can be adjusted via the controller at any time. This provides maximum flexibility. SIO mode RGB This mode works without IO-Link. The seven colours can be controlled via three digital inputs (RGB) that can be triggered individually or in combination. The buzzer and the pushbutton can be addressed and queried via a further pin of the 5-pole M12 socket. SIO mode on / off In this mode, three colours can each be selected via a separate pin. This makes it possible to easily replace conventional lamps that have more than one lighting segment. Parameter setting via IO-Link If the lamp is operated in the SIO mode, it is possible to operate the lamp without IO-Link. IO-Link is necessary, for example, to configure the required light signal colours. Using ifm’s PC software, LR DEVICE, it is easy to configure IO-Link devices and to load and store parameter sets. Moreover, measured values can be clearly visualised and device settings can be conveniently tested. The quick way to start programming mobile machines The new generation of ecomatControllers is the modern controller platform for vehicles and machine tools of the future. This pre-wired starter kit includes the compact ecomatController CR711S with all necessary cables to supply the controller and to wire the interfaces for data exchange via CAN and Ethernet as well as the inputs and outputs. A simulator box offers switches, potentiometers and signal displays to simulate switching states and analogue input signals. The integrated CODESYS software package (version 3.5) makes it easy to get familiar with the controller and to create an application program.

Powerful electronics The heart of the starter kit is the ecomatController CR711S that is designed according to all applicable standards for mobile electronics and equipped with a state-of-the-art multi-core 32 bit processor with a clock frequency of 300 MHz. It offers all functions to create application programs and get familiar with the integrated hardware functions. RGB status LEDs indicate the most important system messages. If required, the internal controllers that can be programmed separately (1 x standard, 1 x safety) will give you your first experiences with the programming of safety controllers for applications up to EN 13849 PL d and EN 62061 SIL cl2.

Mechanical design The displays have a sealed diecast aluminium housing with the protection rating IP 65, IP 67. For connection sealed M12 connections and a 40-pole AMP connector are used. The displays can be used as surface mount device using the tried-and-tested RAM mount system or can be mounted in a wall. Depending on the requirement, the displays can be installed in any orientation. Powerful electronics The integrated 64-bit controller allows a powerful presentation of the high-resolution graphics, processing of the application program and the device functions. Furthermore, there are many opportunities with regard to communication and networking with other systems and networks. With the integrated real-time clock it is possible to give log data a time stamp for better traceability. Audio All displays have extensive audio functions. Safety on the 24 V side As opposed to the 230 V primary side, the circuit protection in the secondary circuit is often neglected. Another issue is that in the event of a failure of the 24 V DC voltage supply standard mechanical circuit breakers often do not trigger. This may happen with long cables, for example. The electronic circuit breakers from ifm monitor the circuit ideally and, if required, disconnect reliably. Individual branch circuits can be selectively disconnected. This allows a reduction of wire cross-sections in the load circuit of the switched-mode power supplies. On the new adjustable protection modules, the tripping current can be set, allowing for optimum adaptation of the plant's circuits to the machinery. Thanks to the optional potential modules, the fuse block can be expanded into an intelligent wiring system. The IO-Link version also allows evaluation of important diagnostic data.

Modular installation The system has a modular structure and consists of a supply module to feed max. 40 A. The protection modules can be mounted side by side. This is done via a simple clip mechanism, completely without any bridges, jumpers or the like. Potential modules are used to distribute the circuits and wire the ground lead. Easy mounting and minimised wiring complexity save cost and time. With the standard version the user can connect up to 10 and with the IO-Link version up to 8 safety modules to the head module. Versions In addition to the triggering mechanism, the modules feature an LED for signalling if the module has triggered, if it is active and to what extent it is utilised. By means of a pushbutton each channel can be activated, deactivated or set. The feed module has an additional collective output to provide a warning signal if a module has triggered. More transparency with IO-Link The IO-Link version has the same function; there is, however, additional information about each channel: • effective nominal current (1 byte cyclical) • output voltage (acyclical) • triggering counter (acyclical) • current unit status (1 byte cyclical): – short circuit – overload – undervoltage – limit reached (80 % IN) • activation/deactivation • reset with triggering • reset triggering counter Extended functions DF2101 IO-Link supply module: • min. / max. value generation of the measured current and voltage value for each channel over any period of time • averaging of the measured current and voltage value for each channel over any period of time • permanent switching on of individual channels in order to ignore the cyclic data exchange (e.g. to guarantee the voltage supply of important devices during the initialisation phase). The safety function remains active. The protection modules are available in the fixed sizes 2 A, 4 A, 6 A, 8 A and 10 A and also as adjustable version 1...10 A. The fixed current values prevent subsequent misuse by changing the max. current value. The adjustable modules enable flexible set-up.
