Director of Missions

I would like to once again address our prayer meeting in this month’s article. I would like to encourage you to join us as we come together Sunday evening, January 30, at Magnolia Ave. Baptist church for a time of prayer in conjunction with thousands of other S.B.C. churches and missionaries. Our national leaders are calling us to this time of solemn assembly and prayer! I sincerely hope that you will join us and encourage all of those to attend your churches to come and join us as well. It will not be a time of preaching, worship, or fellowship, it will be a time when we come together as the body of Christ seeking God as He builds His kingdom here in the Inland Empire and throughout the world. It is important to note that we will begin at 6:00 pm, child care will be provided! Bruce Hitchcock

Habakkuk 1:2-3 “How long, O LORD, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, Violence!" But you do not save? Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds.” Do you sometimes feel like Habakkuk, alone and in the middle of chaos? The world is a crazy place right now; unemployment, conflicting economic news, violence, heart ache, death and destruction. It’s time for some help. Our good friend, pastor, and seminary professor Jim Wilson has answers. His book “Soul Shaping” addresses many of the issues surrounding us in our daily walk and work. He says in his book, “It is impossible for Christians to do the right thing during our defining moments if we lose our connection with God during the monotony of life.” Get connected again: The Inland Empire Baptist Association is making available a three day Pastor’s conference where you can hear and discuss the issues you face right now and find answers to your deepest fears and uncertainties. In addition, Jim will discuss the issue of conflict within the church and how to address it. Come and join us for this special time March 14-16 at Calicinto Ranch. For more information email me at or call me on my cell at (714) 420-1092. (Limited space available) 1 John 1:4 “And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.”
